safe pitches
From my experience this weekend is there any guidance as to when pitches are playable? I have usually relied on groundstaff and my own experience is limited (most of my youth spent in the swimming pool). This seems particularly relevent at tournaments where organisers are under pressure when teams have travelled such as junior terrotorials at the end of last year.
common sense!!
the JTT's the year before the pitches froze on the sat night....2 were ok by the time play started, so the A tournament went ahead, but the 3rd pitch was rock solid, some umpires said its fine, some said no....
players, coaches, parents, everyone available spent 30 mins stepping all over on the pitch (mainly the fans) to get the ground playable
