Seconded, great comeback - and well done to James Hewitt between the pipes, must've been shell-shocked after 1st half v Iroquois yesterday, brilliant performance today.

Third time we've beaten Australia in last four U-19 championships - now it's time we did it at Senior level!

Just a pity that yet again the live-stream goes down the tubes when we get the most competitive game of the tournament. Wouldn't that last quarter have been something to watch?

Great team performance against the Aussies today! the lads came out and played very loose, where intense on ground balls and matched teh Aussies in every department - James Hewitt, Bill Fisher, Dan Smith and Josh Hurry did a great job in D, the midfield where fast and solid and everyone played a part - the attack rotation has worked very well.
I think Condren & Hunns had 2 each, Hunns with a stunning one handed crease dive and a Matty Collier's wrap around shot won it for England, also goals from Sweetman, Curtis and Weddell (this is not final stats).

Come on guys really!!! only two posts for beating the Aussies! show your support online as we are in Turku!

The Aussies made the mistake of getting too intersted in roughing up our lads to throw them off, there where times when they retaliated so should have been man up but because of some stupid plays ended up 5 on 5, Jamie Tomlinson receiving a nasty high hit (should be ok but didnt play in the remainder of the game) in the 2nd Q.

Congrats to the team, staff and parents/supporters!

Well done to the U-19 boys. Is Ethan Jeffrey getting any time between the pipes?

Ethan played agaisnt Canada in a warm up the other day however was named as a reserve, he is still part of the squad here in Turku and was unfortunate to miss out with Mike Connor who had a great game in the 2nd half against the Iroquois and James Hewitt as the starter who also made some amazing saves today, 3 great keepers!

Logged on to watch the replay - but they have only posted the first half and start of third quarter, to the point where stream crashed this morning!

Whole thing's a farce!

Still, at least we won :D

It was a fantastic game up until the whole thing crashed. Too many penalties all round though. England picked up quite a few in the first half, but the Aussies must have got desperate in the second half, after we lost the stream, and started some real rough stuff, and unsportsmanlikes. Total was I think 11 mins England v 14.5 Aus, and Aus scored frequently in the man ups.

The England keeper was outstanding!

The hit on Jamie was a crosscheck on the neck. But to be fair the replay of the incident showed clearly the D committed to the hit aiming for a contact in the body, but Jamie stooped for the shot and got it in the neck. It was always going to be a crosscheck though.

Hope the bloody feeds get sorted out

Ethan Played a season for Nottingham when he was 16 and showed great potential. Saw him season just gone playing for Steelers 1sts against Timperley and he looked like he had improved considerably. Shame he isnt in top 2

Part 2 of the replay is now on Ustream...

HOWEVER - it restarts at 6-all, not 5-all where Part 1 finished, AND stops at 9-all - so doesn't even show England's game-winning goal!!

Eaxctly .... the closest game of the tournament and we miss the most exciting part. It's liking telling a joke lasting 79 minutes and never hearing the punch-line!

The Ustream crew think they'll have a repaired replay/video of this game available on Saturday (21st July). Keep looking and if necessary keep asking.
