I hear the western conference cup was a thriller.

UWIC were 9-5 up and apparently bristol 2s pulled it back to 9-9 with a goal in the last 6 seconds. After the two overtime periods the scores were still level at 11-11, UWIC finally taking the victory with a sudden death overtime goal - final score:

Bristol 2s 11 - 12 UWIC.

That was one of the best games of lacrosse I've ever been involved in, either playing or refereeeing. It was certainly the longest and a pleasure to referee. It had everything - including both sides missing an open goal from the edge of the crease! It's a testament to the spirit in which the game was played that there was only 1 personal foul throughout.

Congratulations to both teams. It's a pity one side had to lose.

The western conference cup final was indeed mad. Being 3 up with barely any time on the clock we really thought we had it but the Bristol fightback through the whole 4th quarter was absolutely incredible. It really was amazing to be involved in and we can't give enough credit to the guys at Bristol for providing such a match and on a stunning day as well - it really was a great day for Uni lax.

Penguin Photography were the photographers. They were there to do some Bristol team photos and had another photographer to take action shots of the Bristol/UWE varsity matches ...the photographer did not realise that the Lacrosse game did not include UWE.

I should be able to get the photos and put them up on Flickr next week I'll keep you informed.
