Reading University Summer Tournament

Postby appleclan Fri Dec 09, 2011 11:23 pm

We are thinking about holding a summer University tournament as BUCS is finished and after University sports tour no more big group lax can take place...

It would be Mens and Womens (either full sided teams or reduced we haven't decided yet) and we would look to provide accommodation nearby so everyone can hit our student Union in the evening which is huge. However if there is not enough interest for a night event we would be happy just to organize a day of lax...time we are thinking of a time around June 16th, June 23rd - hopefully after exams for most unis???

Its a lot of organizing so looking Just trying to get an idea of how much interest we would have for this. Please highlight any interest in this by sending me a pm or emailing me at rb007839@reading.ac.uk

We are very flexible so any suggestions are welcome!

I think bluesfest is around then so maybe earlier or later in June would be better for people as lots of us go to Bluesfest? Sounds like a great idea tho.

Does Blues know that that's the same weekend as the Berlin Open?

Suggestion of 6-a-side Men's Lacrosse on our 3g pitches. Great suggestion I think - means teams wouldn't need as much player commitment to attend etc. Believe running a mens and womens full sided teams is to bigger task for our first year plans!

Believe having this run on a Wednesday would be a better option for University teams, and allows access to the student union! Dates coming to mind are Wednesday 13th and Wednesday 20th June. Again any feedback would be great

I'm sure we'd look to send a team from uwic, most of us will still be around after exams at that stage so most of the dates sounded so far are good.

UWE could well be very keen for this, just running it through the club now to see how many people will be around at that time but keep me in the loop :)
