Final matches

Postby rpowell Thu Jul 22, 2010 10:28 pm

So, some very interesting match-ups left... in fact re-matches.

Wales v Finland - 9-7 the first time round. Can Wales repeat this scoreline?

Japan v Australia - Japan got their first ever World Cup win over the Aussies on Monday, 11-9. Double or quits?

USA v Canada - first American loss in round-robin matches ever, on "Super Saturday", 9-10. If the gold medal match is half as close, it'll keep the spectators on the edge of their seats.

Predictions, anyone...?

Final

Canada "found-out" at face - anyone know what Snider was doing wrong?
Stick-check on Rabil not called (by Coach Huntley?) until 78th minute after he'd scored several goals.
John Grant Jr looked as if he'd played one game too many, brilliant, but as if he wanted to get around more.
Injury to key defensive midfield short stick, Billy Dee Smith. Anyone know how he is?

Great game played with real intensity. Could have gone either way until the winners killed the clock at the end.

USA never even got out of 3rd gear. Too easy. Canada not the same without zwicki and a fit grant Jr. Shame!

Does anyone know how the aussie guy is who got carted off in the ambulance? He didn't look in a good way when we saw him get loaded up, number 32 I think it was.
