First Episode: University of Manchester Lacrosse Documentary

Postby PurpleD Mon Jan 14, 2013 11:40 am

Hi there!

I'd appreciate it if you took the time to check out the first episode of the documentary I am currently making following the University of Manchester Lacrosse Club this year!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3psK-W-48JE

Put it in HD, turn up the volume and put it in full screen, and enjoy it!

Thanks for your time.

Very awesome video! Nice work Guy.

One small criticism, from my own point of view I would have enjoyed seeing more games/actual lax footage and less talking/intricate details of being a kit sec. Nevertheless, great video and clearly a lot of hard work went into it.

Hi thanks for the feedback!

Yeah it was definitely something I debated over. The decision I reached in the end was that I'm attempting to encapsulate everything about being a University Lacrosse player, not just the lacrosse itself. However it's a very fine balance to strike. You can rest assured that plenty more laxing will feature in coming videos!

Anyway, thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Apart from a few bits of camera work making me feel sick not a bad effort.

Would slightly disagree with the comment that the UK University and US College system are 'just a little different' you talked about good points after that but i would say a massive difference!

Will definitely be watching out for the next episode.

there are a lot of 'club' teams at colleges which are run similar to our uni clubs....

Unfortunately I can't make it available on mobile devices; because I used copyrighted music the syndication is entirely out of my control, and is down to the music studios who own it.

As for the differences between the US and UK uni teams; of course there are lots of club teams in America which are run very similarly to ourselves. However here in Britain there is no such distinction between 'club' and 'team', but our 'team' is more like their 'club' in terms of organisation. This is actually something that will be covered in far greater detail in later episodes.

Thanks for the responses!
