I've just been informed that the Welsh ladies team appeared on BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year last night for winning the European Championships! Congrats girls!
mind you, would have been good if it had been given a bit of promotion beforehand as I watched the first 5mins and turned over... I presume someone from the WLA knew??

Unfortunately we at the WLA were not informed. We had badgered the SCW to get the team mentioned and they thought it unlikely and could not promise anything. We also tried to get the team invited to the event. When we won in 2004 some of the management and a few players were invited to be part of the audience which was great but then there was no mention of the team at all! It seems that we can't have both!
