Euros 2008 Women's Results

Postby UKLaxfan Sun Aug 10, 2008 2:42 pm

Finland 10 Sweden 15

A certain Swedish player from Heaton Mersey had a very good game
You gotta love those Swedish babes

Sverige! Sverige! Sverige! Yah-Yah-Yah

Wales 12 England 3
Congratulations to Wales the defending Champions from 2004 hammer England in the European Championship 1st Round. England go from Bronze Medal in the World Games to being thrashed by Wales in Euros 2008.

Austria 12 Holland 3
In this battle of the newcomers Austria won convincingly, as the Dutch team didn't play to their potential. Congratulations to Austria on their 1st ever win in European Lacrosse Championships.

the swedes didnt look bad...they have a quick team with some girls who can sprint!!!

they benefited from having the said player but still played well when she was off, they could be a surprise for the top of the table!

to be fair to england...it really was a young squad and you could see it on the pitch with decision making....wales playe hard and scored lots...ros llyod (cambridge\harpenden) had a good game!

austria were by far the better team of these newer nations....we had high hopes for this game but really couldnt string any passes together and just sucked on ground balls, didnt pick up midfield runners and didnt create on attack therefore lost....austria scored 6 each 1\2 we scored our 3 in the 2nd

holland lost to finland yesterday 1-5

no one scored for first 27 mins...was a close game, dutch were much better but cant hit a barn door...this has shown in all the games, lost to sweden the day before 3-21 and lost to ireland today 2-16.

the ireland match was really good and well played by both teams was not all one way.

Ireland will go through to play for bronze....however i think the scots or the young england could beat them, the americans have good sticks skills and when on form really turn on the style but holland found that they could out run most of the ireland players and isolate the weaker ireland players...but both ireland keepers are good!!

wales beat scots 7-4 i think it finished

scots came out hard and took a 2 nil lead but wales worked hard and keepers played really well...scots moves got them loads off free positions but didnt convert

looking forward to the eng scot game tomoz its basically a semi final

Welsh girls were excellent today, came from 2 down early in game. Gill had some great saves in the second half.
Think Jay Jones in his Borat mankini put Scots off.
