National Representation

Postby Giggles Wed May 16, 2007 7:32 pm

Hi guys,

I'm a final year journalism student at the Uni of Gloucestershire (UK) and have been playing lax for many years.

I am currently writing an article about the growth of lax in the UK over recent years, despite the apparent lack of funding and sponsorship.

After watching the England/Scotland/Wales teams play in Edinburgh last month, I was dissappointed to hear the lack of financial support behind our national players and that they have to fork out of their own money to travel to away games etc.

If anyone has any experience of this, or maybe has any ideas as to how we can begin publicicing the sport to financial benefactors, please make them known to me! Would be great to include some of your thoughts in my feature.

Also, I don't know about the men's national teams...Is it the same situation for you too?

Anyone who may be reading this from the US, I know lax is huge over there - do your national players get financial support by the way of sponsorship or is the same for you too?

Cheers guys,
Louise.
