Bath lots to 0 vs Southampton Sabres

Cheers to Sabres for travelling with only 9 and to our uni freshers who played for them and stuck it out well. However, the Bath side - despite lacking some key players and showing off basically a university midfield line - always had a bit too much in the locker. Loads more goals for Si Griffiths, Jack Lewis scored a fair few and some nicely worked team goals. Add to that the clean sheet and Bath will be very much looking forward to next week's Flags final vs Cardiff.

Exeter University 7-3 Southampton Tridents

Really ferocious encounter and I feel both teams fielding majority of freshers with a few old hands.

0-0 until mid-way through the second quarter then Southampton broke the deadlock but Exeter came back strong.

Great game.

Warwick 2 - 12 Cardiff Harlequins

I couldnt play but heard Warwick fielded a strong side, and Cardiff were made to graft for the win, without really hitting top gear. Sets us up nicely for the big one next week, can't wait!

Also heard on the grapevine

Bristol 22 - 5 Cheltenham

Massive result for Brizzol - they gave us a hell of a game a few weeks back although they said they were disappointed with their performance, so presumably they hit top form today. No idea about the strength of the Cheltenham side but the result virtually guarantees Bath the title, assuming they dont suffer a similar slip-up.

Wow! Both pretty big results. More details anyone?

Northampton 10 - 12 Reading A.

Thanks to the Reading guys, good game, good spirit. We had the advantage most of the first half, let Reading through too many times with sloopy play and paid the price! Sorted it out and I think shut them out in the last quarter but couldn't capitalise.

Purley 11 - Hitchin 9

Fun game to play in. None of the hitchin boys actually realised that we were drawing 9-9 with a couple of mins to go otherwise we may have had a change in tactics... a well, roll on flags :P
Good to see some of the Purley players from last season playing again, a much stronger squad than we faced before xmas.

Croydon 11 - Brighton 12

Absolute cracker of a game - Croydon went ahead first quarter 4-2, Brighton pulled back to be 6 or 7-4 ahead by the half. Brighton 5 up by 3/4 time.
Croydon pulled it back to be 1 down with a minute to play, and had 2 shots in the dying seconds to tie it up.

Brighton in all honesty were the better side all day. Better teamwork, groundballs, and fewer mistakes.

Hard game played in good spirits. If they can keep that squad together next year (the problem for all Uni sides) they will be a force next season

Yep... was a much weaker cougars side today, missing 3/4 key players... however, Bristol are without doubt the most organised team we have played against this year and fully deserved the win. Not even sure if having those players back would have made a great deal of difference. Another disapointing performance from us.

I just did some geeking out and the worst we can do is end up with 43 points (which means we lose to Cardiff and Portsmouth in our 2 last games)

Assuming we lose both games:
The best Cardiff can finish with is 44 points (Means Cheltenahm finish with 41, must win all postponed games) - Cardiff win the league

The best Cheltenham can finish with is 43 points (Means Cardiff finish with 42 and Cheltenham have to win all postponed games) - We win the league due to a +1 goal difference with Cheltenham.

If we draw with Portsmouth:
Cardiff have to beat us by more than 5 goals and win all remaining games in hand to win the League.

If we beat Portsmouth:
We win the league with at least 45 points.

Too bad we play Portsmouth on the last day of the Season!

Oh, and if Cardiff don't beat us, we win the league.
