Besides, we can't promote lacrosse and share the secret just in case the game gets really big!
Perhaps info on major events should be promoted better by the ELA

I think the forums have dropped off over the last few seasons due to a combination of 3 reasons.
1) The way we use social media. With the development of twitter, facebook and smartphones people consume their media/information in a very different way to 3 or 4 years ago

2) It’s the same old posts week after week, ‘results for xx/xx/xx’, there is actually very little discussion, which means people don’t come back and check the forums. Leaving a core group of people sharing the same information week after week.

Even in the results threads it’s just the result, or a generic ‘good game played in good spirits’. There is no way that every game this season has gone without some sort of interesting controversy. The issue is the forum members have become wise to the fact that anything they post can potentially lead to disciplinarily charges.

We need debate, which breads new content, new users and an active forum.

3) In the 1st few years of the forums, it was being promoted actively within clubs and at tournaments ect. There are hundreds of new players each season either starting the sport at a senior level (university) or graduating from junior to senior, yet we’re not really seeing the forum membership grow each year by the same margins. We probably need a marketing plan 

On the plus side, I wasn't able to buy a kitchen on here a few years ago!
