Results, 24th November

Postby Tree13 Fri Nov 23, 2012 11:32 pm

Early one:

London Uni v Brighton is postponed. Grass pitch at UCL sports ground is waterlogged and no other pitches in London or South Hertfordshire are available at short notice.

Grass pitches and winter lacrosse is bad combination.

Reading seconds beat Maidstone 12-10. Tough game in muddy conditions played in good spirits! Thanks for hosting Maidstone!

Croydon 7 - 7 Hillcroft A

Hard fought game played in good Spirit. Hillcroft were never behind until the 4th Quarter when Croydon went ahead after taking advantage of a man up play. Before that the teams were either Drawing, or Hillcroft were ahead. Hillcroft came storming back and levelled in the final second from a dodger from behind forcing his way through 4 Croydon players and scoring from close range.

Great game guys, look forwards to the return leg

Swansea were going to play a double header with Portsmouth and Southampton this weekend. Pompeys ground is waterlogged so we are rearranging the whole weekend for either feb or march.

Blues 2 9-2 Colchester

Hard fought game on a pitch that was very muddy in parts. Would have been much closer if Colchester had been able to shoot straight.

Quarter scores

Blues - Colchester
2-0
4-1
7-1
9-2

Not many fouls for an E1 game. Pleasure to ref even in the crappy weather.

Despite the result, it was a pleasure to play at Spencer's home ground this afternoon; thanks for the game & hospitality chaps.

We did indeed! And a sterling job he did too (as you might expect), also made a nice change to have 2 refs for once.

It was a tough (and wet) game in which we didn't use our huge bench well at all. Looking forward to the return fixture and hopefully we can return the excellent post match hospitality (hot food, cakes, a cheese board and still had time for a dirty pint for the motm).

Reading 13 - 5 Purley

Very wet and muddy match that ended up in the pitch black. Purley with only 10 players fought hard and were 5-3 up at half time but the conditions and their numbers took their toll and we piled on the pressure in the 2nd half.

Cheers to Purley for a typically competitive game. I look forward to the return match.
