A Warrior's Heart

Postby speach Wed Mar 14, 2012 6:09 pm

My son's just home from school and is watching A Warrior's Heart on Sky Movies Premiere, Channel 301.

Looks like a good movie, with a lot of lacrosse featured in it.

Anyone know anymore about this? I'm sure that, as it's on Sky, it'll be repeated often over the coming week(s).

It's a drama with a base of lacrosse and layers of teenage angst.
My daughters like the film Simon, that's all I need to know.
Whilst the lacrosse play is a minor element, it is good PR for the game and a decent lesson on it's "little brother of war" ethics.

Yes, classic American made-for-tv afternoon movie.

The Braveheart ending was different (as opposed to overtime)!

It's on every afternoon on Sky channel 301 for at least a week.

The most lacrosse I've seen in any film - I thought the two minute penalty was a bit harsh though!

I'm not so convinced it was good PR for the Sport as the film (in my opinion) was beyond shockingly bad. Although any PR is good PR I suppose.

Its an ok film.... but the characters arent that believable and the lacrosse is okish.... good for kids to watch maybe, but more an advertisement for the american way of life than the sport

I thought it was a pretty dismal film, also I'm sure there were 2 pretty pivotal moving picks that led to goals! But like you say good to see lax getting some coverage.

I've watched this film twice now with two different people.

One thought it was really good and a great advert for the game and the tradition of Baggataway heritage.

One thought it was the worst film they had ever seen, and was sad that they had wasted time that they will never get back

Both people are ex-laxers but have wildly different opinons on this film.

My advice - Watch it and make you're own mind up

Having watched it twice, I now find it really entertaining bordering on Cult Status, it made me laugh out loud at the continuity errors.

The Native American guy is cool

The lead is a D*** and needs his a*** kicking

The lead plays much better lacrosse when he wears a helmet

His mate checks to see if he is alive a one point, which cracks me up, as he doesn't seem bothered either way

record it - watch it again - it gets better and funnier ever time!

Two Thumbs Up

I watched it with a few mates, we knew it was going to be poor so had a laugh watching it and made it enjoyable! I dont understand why they dont just get real lacrosse players to be in the lax scenes rather than actors, as it was clear this was not the case at points.

A lot better than previous efforts though, some good shooting etc.
