SEMLA Flags Finals 2012

Postby Chilli Sun Mar 11, 2012 4:55 pm

Flags Finals 21st April 2012 at Reading LC

Face 12.30pm
Intermediate Flags - EG vs Bath
Minor Flags - Epsom vs Hillcroft A
Minor Plate - Swansea Hawks vs Maidstone

Face 3pm
Senior Flags - Blues vs Spencer

In previous years we have played the Plate Final/s at 11am and then the Minor and Intermediate at 1pm, however, given the distances that Maidstone and Swansea have to travel, we have decided to make the face-off for all three 12.30pm so that they can get to Reading without a ridiculously early start. It also means that they will be changed and out again to ensure the maximum crowd for the Senior Final.

Please could you let your members know that the Ibis Club will provide an outdoor BBQ and beer tent.

There will be two equipment vendors present, Zenith Sports and Northern Soul

There will be a fastest shot competition and the England u19s will be selling fund raising merchandise.

IMPORTANT
Please advise your members that dogs are not allowed on the fields and that it is not allowed to consume beer bought elsewhere on the Club premises.

The Ibis Club does not charge SEMLA for the use of the fields or facilities, unless we all play by their rules we may end up worse off as an Association.

confirmed 11-6 with swansea and maidstone!

Maidstone were in control for the first half but with 13 seconds to go a fling up field from our keeper and a quick stick into the goal by our attack with half a second to spare gave the hawks a confidence boost they needed and tied the game at 4-4 at the half. From then on, hawks started playing and took control.

From everyone at Swansea Hawks lacrosse, we thank Maidstone for the match and wish them the best in East 1 next season.

The Spencer Blues score looks interesting. What's the story then, it was billed to be a really close game but seems a blow out? Who did all the damage for Spencer?

More seriously, Spencer's attack was the more dynamic creating goal scoring opportunities. Spencer's defence took the opportunity to slide onto the ball carrier frequently 3 on 1 effectively shutting down the attack. All Blues goals were excellent solo efforts - two of them in the last 5 minutes.

Great team effort by the whole Spencer team for a well deserved victory
