Come on Toby, chance to be the Surrey Manager if you're quick!

Write to the SEMLA Secretary (semla.secretary@southlacrosse.org.uk) to register the team and yourself as the manager and send the £50 entry fee to the Treasurer (semla.treasurer@southlacrosse.org.uk)

Wessex? Who's that to involve? Will there be a team from Mercia too?

Edit: just read chilli's post on the first page and all makes sense now!

So not only can he brag that he played county level but also that he managed a county team? That would make his year.

Haha i wish! Just heard from both Southampton and Pompy Uni and they are both on tour that weekend as it is their easter break so not looking good for a team.

Ok so it sounds like there won't be a Hampshire team and Wessex have registered now which leaves just Surrey and Devon to make their minds up

Rules for the Tournament are below,

Since it says 'rules of lacrosse as played in SEMLA', I assume that there is no squad maximum and is up to teams to decide how many players in a squad.
Just to be clear, it is a 10 a side tournament.

COUNTY TOURNAMENT RULES

ALL OF THE RULES OF LACROSSE AS PLAYED IN S.E.M.L.A. SHALL APPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING ALTERATIONS.
1. GAMES WILL BE TWO TEN MINUTE HALVES.

2. HALF TIME WILL BE TWO MINUTES.

3. NO TIME OUTS.

4. AFTER A GOAL PLAY RESTARTS WITH ANY CLEARING PLAYER OUTSIDE OF THE CREASE ON THE GOAL LINE EXTENDED ON THE REFEREE’S WHISTLE.

5. POINTS AWARDED AS FOLLOWS;
10 FOR A WIN
5 FOR A DRAW.
I FOR EACH GOAL.

SEMI FINALS AND THE FINAL ENDING IN A DRAW WILL GO TO SUDDEN DEATH PLAYED IN 4 MINUTE PERIODS.

6. ANY PLAYER BEING EXPELLED FROM A GAME WILL HAVE A MINIMUM SUSPENSION OF ONE GAME.
AN EXTENSION OF THE PERIOD OF SUSPENSION MAY BE DECIDED ON BY THE HEAD REFEREE AND THE TOURNAMENT ORGANISER.

7. AFTER THE PRELIMINARY ROUNDS THE TOP FOUR TEAMS GO INTO THE SEMI FINALS.1 V 3 2 V 4

IN THE EVENT OF A TIE FOR SEMI FINAL PLACES THEN THE FOLLOWING SHALL APPLY.

A.BEST GOAL DIFFERENCE
B.RESULT OF GAME IN PRELIMINARY ROUNDS
C.FEWEST GOALS CONCEDED
D.COIN TOSS

8. TEAM NOT READY TO START ON TIME WILL RECEIVE DELAY OF GAME PENALTY.
A TEAM ARRIVING 5 MINUTES OR MORE AFTER GAME TIME WILL FORFEIT THE GAME 10-0.

What's the incentive to finish first then? finish second by deliberately throwing your last game and you get an easier semifinal match. Surely 1v4 2v3 would make sense?

You're right, that's more usual, will ask Ray Nash (the organiser) whether that's a typo

Belgium, under an EU directive is now officially an English County, Germany and France didn't want it and Holland couldn't afford the lease payments, so we got it for free.

or, just maybe........

they are entering the Euros for the first time this summer and wanted some competition.......... so because the same organisers also bring their juniors over to the South each October for a mini-tour, we discussed it and invited them to guest at the County Tournament.
