Hitchin A 17 - 0 Blues 3's

There were only a handful of penalties and lots to laugh about during this game. Thanks to both teams for the entertainment and good sportsmanship. Even the bad weather couldn't spoil this game although I was glad to get off the field and into a hot shower! I thoroughly enjoyed reffing today  Thanks again to everyone who played

His name is Jon, he had a great game as he always does! But it was a complete team performance yesterday commitment and passion all over the pitch.... maybe a little too much passion at time!
Brilliant game to play in though, really tight edgy game, great fun.

Was a tough and well contested game. Spencer were in the lead pretty much throughout! One in it early in the 4th quarter then spencer pulled away. Close game at points though spencer deserved the win overall! Cheers for coming down and sorry about the horrific weather in the 4th!!!

Really great game - credit to Reading for fighting back when Spencer had established a decent first quarter lead. After that it was nip and tuck until the very end when Spencer managed to pull away.

Well reffed with both teams playing hard but fair in persistent rain - like playing in Manchester!!!

Friendly: Welwyn 3rds 11 - 14 Kent Uni

Q1 - 2-4
Q2 - 6-6
Q3 - 9-9
Q4 - 11-14

Both teams glad to get some game time and as you can see from the quarter scores it was pretty close. Weather was pretty rubbish but the pizza at the club house after was good.

Thanks for hosting Welwyn and Andrew for organising. Good experience for Kent Uni who are considering entering Semla in the coming season.

Oxford 6 - 3 London

Great game fought hard in the rain, oxford very strong on fundamentals with London failing to convert offensive chances to goals. Great team to play against.

Great result for Welwyn 2's, well done. And a nice underdog victory for Bristol, makes the Premiership a little more interesting!

That's somthing of an understatement! Bristol lost to Hitchin by a twenty-goal margin back in November, and this is the first game in which Bristol have scored double figures - has it all clicked, or did Hitchin have the off-day from hell? Either way, Bristol still have a chance to drag themselves up to safety, because they have games left to play against Purley, Welwyn and Cardiff....

julius125 wrote:Croydon 8 - 6 Cambridge

Was a great game to play in, Croydon leading throughout but Cambridge kept fighting to the final whistle, cheers for coming down guys!

Similar situation for Cambridge - is it all coming together in time for them to save their season? Games left to play include Colchester, Welwyn 2 and Brighton twice.... if Cambridge can somehow manage the impending fixture pile-up and get all these games played, they could scrape a mid-table finish.

Hitchin only brought 10 men, which meant they struggled in the final quarter. Things seemed to click better for us on offence than we've been able to in the previous games and we were led the game since the start of Q2. Was generally just a fantastic performance all over the field. We're pumped for our first win and like you said, just need to capitalize on one or two of the remaining games to be in with a chance of staying up!

Can't remember the quarter scores exactly but they were something along the lines of
Bristol 2 - 2 Hitchin
Bristol 6 - 4 Hitchin
Bristol 8 - 5 Hitchin
Bristol 12 - 6 Hitchin

Hopefully somebody will correct me.

Hitchin bought 10 men, but no goalie! Totally knackered by last qtr as the pitch was a bog but at least it makes the last few games interesting down at the bottom.....
