Predictions 11th Feb

Postby julius125 Tue Feb 07, 2012 10:18 am

Prem Hillcroft v Hampstead
Prem Hitchin v Harlequins
Prem Purley v Welwyn
Prem Reading v Spencer
Prem Blues v Bristol Bombers

East1 Panthers v Blues 2 - Brighton have been improving a lot since the start of the season, but the talent in Blues ranks will be a little too much for them
East1 Cambridge v Colchester - Colchester have been strong through most of the season, and if they travel with a good team will be able to secure a win
East1 Spencer 2 v Bucks - A very strong match-up, Bucks have some good talent in their players whilst Spencer are very well drilled and organised. Will be a very close game, but I think Spencer will be the ones to take the win
East1 Welwyn 2 v Croydon - Will be good to play against Welwyn again now that they've found some momentum and secured some wins, both the game and result should be very different and hopefully more closely matched

East2 Hillcroft A v Epsom
East2 London v Maidstone
East2 Northampton v Oxford Uni
East2 Spencer 3 v East Grinstead A

East3 Hitchin A v Royal Holloway
East3 Blues 3 v Chichester
East3 Welwyn 3 v Norwich

The rest of the weekends' fixtures for those who want them:

West1 Bath v Portsmouth
West1 Birmingham 10 - 0 Penarth
West1 Harlequins A v Southampton
West1 Warwick v Bristol Bombers 2

West2 Aberystwyth v Swansea Hawks
West2 Bournemouth v Bath 2
West2 Portsmouth 2 v Exeter
West2 Tridents v Cheltenham
fight, dress your wounds, then fight again...

Considering that in-land it's been below freezing every night, and likely to be -5c and -11c on the weekend, can't see many games going ahead unless on artificial pitches.

Sad but looking increasingly likely. Big shame considering the temperature during the day is fine for a game. Just need the pitches to thaw.

Look like all the Blues games are off.

Anyone South or West of London got a game still on and need another match official? (not too far away don't fancy driving past Reading for example).

Bucks are playing Spencer in Earlsfield, which is pretty close, but I'll leave it up to Spencer as they may have their own arrangements.

As it stands, Spencer 2's vs Bucks (@Spencer) AND Spencer 3's vs EG2 (@King George's Park) are both still ON.
If I hear any different I'll post - as I'll also need to inform all the Spencer players.
Both games would appreciate a qualified (ELA basic level or above) referee.
I've pencilled in Ian B for the 3's game if his Epsom game does not happen.

The Reading vs Spencer game is subject to a pitch inspection tomorrow morning. This game could be either on grass or astro. This is now with the respective team captains to sort out, but again, if I hear official word, I'll post.

Love seeing the number of volunteers to officiate

It proves we are all mad wanting to run around in black and white in the freezing cold - but there appears a strong preference not to CBO

PS: The way H drives one hour away could be Exeter or Wilmslow

Spencer 2's & 3's games OFF.

Bucks & EG2 captains have been notified. Quite annoying as this call could of been made yesterday.
