Intermediate Plate - Reading 2 v Colchester (11am) Game conceded by Colchester, Reading win the trophy

Minor Flags - Exeter v Hillcroft 'A' (1pm)

Intermediate Flags - Portsmouth v Bristol Bombers (1pm)

Senior Flags - Reading v Walcountian Blues (3pm)

5pm Presentation of all medals and trophies by Alex Beckey, Director of Sport at Reading School

There will be two stands selling lax kit, Zenith and Northern Soul and a raffle for lax goodies.

it it just me that thinks this it a bit odd??? I was really looking forward to watching the exeter Vs Hillcroft game or at least some of it. Any chance of Reading have conceded that they can play at 11 so people dont have to chooses between finals?

surely it makes more sense to have the minor plate and final at the same time then the intermediate plate and final at the same time.. otherwise it kind of splits the crowd....

Nope - totally not up for playing at 11!

This isn't exactly a new problem though, Brighton & us had the same problem in 2008.

Should/Could the flags final be pushed back ~2 weeks next year to avoid the clash?

I don't think Flags should be moved for tour, it should be that teams who have a reasonable expectation of getting to the Final should arrange tour around flags.
At Birmingham we thought we'd make the finals this year, so we chose week 2 instead of week 1, there's no real difference out there, but back home you end up with a shiny treat if you stick around and win.

Honestly, I'm not sure if it's a university or club based decision which week we go on tour. I just know we seem to get robbed of payers the same time every year.

If we had the option of going later and turned it down, someone's going to get a clip round the ear!

Edit: Reliably informed that our uni makes the decision to go as a whole. Nothing we could have said would have changed the date.

That said, I've looked at the fixtures and you can't really move it any later back without creating a knock on for everything else (like 6's, BNC's et)

will it be a problem next year anyway?

Tour is held over easter holidays is it not? which can move around (this year is very late), whilst flags is aways after season ends ie early april

Same for Southampton (minus the medal) so they could watch the flags finals and maybe learn something.

At Pompey tour is arranged by the university as a whole not the individual clubs, unless you are going to a different destination.

That's the attitude I like! Sheffield Uni last year organised their bus to Salou to leave straight from the Rocherdome after they played in the Junior Flags. Three Newcastle players including myself went to Salou in 2009, but flew out on the monday instead as we had the Nigel Wayne finals on the Sunday.

Yep, but we only have ourselves to blame, conceding 3 goals without reply in the first quarter.

We're obviously gutted but it was a very fun game and all credit to Bristol. Well done to all the winners (& runners up :) ) and many thanks to Trev and Wildcats for hosting

Couple of idiots from portsmouth uni left their sticks in reading, we think. Anyone pick up
