Purley v Hampstead

Postby speach Fri Jan 29, 2010 7:14 pm

Mike Barrett has just called to say that the game at Purley is off.

The ground is water-logged, due to very heavy rain this afternoon, and they cannot get an astroturf pitch.

7 - 4
13 - 6
18 - 8

maidstone 10- 12 Spencer 2's

Postby FERAL Sat Jan 30, 2010 7:00 pm

Great game end to end on a partucilarly muddy pitch. Maidstone had 3 goals ritefully dissallowed and a few scuffles here and there, but boys will be boys. overall a great game.
quarter scores:
1/4 miadstone 3:3 Spencer 2's
2/4 Maidstone 3:4 Spencer 2's
3/4 Maidstone 1:5 spencer 2's
4/4 Maidstone 3:0 Spencer 2's

Many thanks for the spencer lads making the trip down all the best for the rest of the season.

Some thrilling high scoring games today. Haha.

Not gonna lie, Portsmouth vs Southampton was far from a classic, in fact approaching one of the worst games ive seen/played in, which is surprising as both teams have been playing reasonably well this season. The number of unforced errors was beyond horrific.

Welwyn 2................3-10...........Northampton Town Weasels. Well played Northampton - enjoyed the game even if we were never really in it.

Welwyn 3............... 14-10..........Canterbury. Big win for the thirds today for 6 points.

Spencer v Welwyn

Postby speach Sat Jan 30, 2010 8:01 pm

Quarter time scores:

Spencer 2 - 1 Welwyn - Spencer won quarter 2-1
Spencer 2 - 6 Welwyn - Welwyn won quarter 5-0
Spencer 6 - 8 Welwyn - Spencer won quarter 4-2
Spencer 6 -12 Welwyn - Welwyn won quarter 4-0

Great game to referee; end-to-end and free-flowing, with hardly any time-serving penalties.

Quick and strange observation when typing this was that only 3 goals were scored at the top end of the pitch, where the keeper had the sun in his eyes, whereas 15 were scored at the bottom end (by the cricket sight-screens). Spencer only scored at the bottom end. Okay, I'll stop there!

Discount Quarter 3/4 and it actually wasn't too bad a game. Was the most fun I had in D for a long while, despite breaking yet another Revo Pro. Pretty sure I'm putting the Warrior chairmans kids through college...
