Swansea Hawks 1 - 15 Southampton City
More skin missing from my knees after 2 weeks worth of lacrosse on astro, but worth it. Southampton travelled with 11, missing 3 guys who would be considered starting 10, played controlled possession lacrosse. From a personal view point it was the best team match I've played in for Southampton, 11 of our goals were assisted, everyone gave 100% the whole game. Swansea just had an off day, I'd like to hear Swanseas view on this, things didn't appear to click today but they still look a well drilled outfit.
Thanks to the Swansea guys and to the ref.
Next up, Quins

Welwyn 3s 5 Blues 3 9
A much improved Welwyn Side from the one we played in the Cup two weeks ago. A hard fought match that had the blues on defence for much of the last quarter as Welwyn looked to close a 2 goal gap and then get hit on the break twice at the end to make the scoreline look a bit more comfortable fro the Blues. Blues were slightly weaker then two weeks ago and only had 10 men against Welwyn's 21! I mean to say 21 players in a 3rd team squad...riches Wiggy and I can only dream of.
Quarter Scores Welwyn First
3-1
4-3
5-7
5-9
Great fight fight back from the blues, the 3rd quarter really was the deciding time. I was concerned about some of our aged legs in the 2nd half but our defence stood rock solid and we put away some good goals.
Good luck to Welwyn for the rest of the season, a great setup for the 3rd team to have a coach and so much support...I could not hear the ref because of all the noise being made, and there are some really exciting prospects in that team that will only get better as the season goes on.
