It is true that Keele are now in the North but we started in the South 06/07 and 07/08. Staffordshire University were in the league 07/08 before being put in the North. Could be useful to note when talking about the Midlands league being dissolved after the 07/08 season.

I stand to be corrected on Welwyn but i remember playing (and beating them) in my 2nd season playing which was 2004-2005 and they weren't in the league the year before that.
had they really been running for 8 years?

Welwyn LC's first year in the league was the 2004/5 season when we won division 4.

Prior to that it had been a purely Junior side until the children all grew up into the hulking brutes they now are and adopted a few ah hem older players/dads to drive them around!

The club was set up and founded in 2001.

They played in the Welsh 8's (mens) tourney in 2002/3 season.

The brief of this thread was when clubs started and failed... not entered the league.

This is true indeed as there was alot of mixed games played in the first years and lots of tri tourneys between welsh clubs. I believe Aber were involved (not sure when they started tho) and wasnt there a team based in or around Newport??? or am i just making that up now?
