Summer training sessions

Postby LVP Thu May 28, 2009 1:03 pm

Due to the prevailing labour market conditions, finding gainful employment this summer looks like being nothing more than a pipedream. Rather than getting too hung up over it, I've decided instead that the solution is more lacrosse.

So, what clubs in and around south London are running training sessions this summer?

Hillcroft will be training through out the summer on Clapham Common on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 onwards. Everyone welcome, new recruits through to seasoned pros.

Muz...you aren't invited!

Sam, we play behind the windmill pub and will pretty much be starting next week. Let me confirm this before next week.

We (Hillcroft) are definitely training starting this week (3 June) - Just behind the Windmill pub on Clapham Common - Starting 7:30pm - till about 9pm (depending on light) everyone is welcome - from beginners up.

Just walk out on the common and we'll be easy to find - the only lot in Lacrosse gear.

That's cool, I'll muddle my way across to Clapham in a week or two once my exams are over, thanks. Anyone know if EG or Blues are training, and whether their sessions open to everyone? If I can get some lax every day of the week (ish), I'll be a happy chap.

EG train throughout the summer and I think they are running their summer league again. Don't know how open they are.

Blues I'm sure will have some summer scrimages but probably won't launch any major trianing until September.

Croydon are carrying on training throughout summer, at their home ground (Chislehurst, Kent) and would welcome any new players.
Last I heard there will be scrimmages on saturdays and then a fitness session somtime during the week, however I'm abroad so slightly out the loop.
Anyone interested should drop Dave.A or Dunc (Captains) an email for the latest.

Summer training sessions

Postby Sam H Tue Jun 16, 2009 9:33 am

Thanks Dave.

Been away for a bit but will try and make it down in the next couple of weeks. As long as you guys don't mind a lot of rust (missed most of last year which in any case was only my 2nd season, so got a lot of catch-up to do).

Couldn't see anyone there last night, and to be fair with the weather as bad as it was it was getting pretty dark by 7.30 anyway.

So is that it for the summer midweek fun then? Don't mind too much on the lax front (as we have floodlit midweek training starting soon anyway) but god it's depressing when the summer daylight ends.....

Sorry if you turned up and no one was there - we're done with Wednesday training sessions.

Anyone have any weekend open training sessions?
