Onondaga Community College

Postby UKLaxfan Thu Apr 26, 2007 12:20 pm

Onandaga Community College (OCC) play in the NJCAA or JuCo League.

They went undefeated last year in winning the JuCo Championship game.

This year they have improved if anything. They average 26 Goals per game while only conceding 5 on average. In their last 3 games they've scored 98 goals while giving up 5 in total.

There results can be viewed at
http://www.laxpower.com/update07/binmen/XOCCXX.PHP

Team Stats:
http://www.njcaa.org/schmain.cfm?sid=16 ... amid=56273

Cody Jamieson is one of their star players is averaging nearly 8 pts/game with support from
Kent Squires-Hill 5pts/game (Heading to Syracuse)
Jeremy Thompson 5pts/game
Lee Nanticoke 4pts/Game (Heading to Syracuse)

Is this the most dominant team ever?

A lot of these players are either current or future Iroquois Nationals players.

The Iroquois Team should be worth watching in Manchester in 2010.

Wow. Those are big stats. Sounds like they are players to watch in the coming NCAA season.

Whats the quality of their opposition?

JuCo

Postby UKLaxfan Fri Apr 27, 2007 2:04 pm

Community Colleges usually get some good players out of High School who haven't made the grades academically.

Some of these players move on to Div I schools after completing a 2 year course, by transferring for their final two years.

Herkimer CC is one of the traditional JuCo powers but even in their hayday they weren't dominating as much as OCC are now.

They beat Herkimer 26-9 (2006) & 25-12 (2007)

They beat Suffolk CC in the 2006 Championship Game 30-6

so does that mean their opposition are any good? or are they made to look better by playing lesser teams?

Inside Lacrosse TV

Postby UKLaxfan Sat Jun 23, 2007 3:29 pm

Inside Lacrosse have done an excellent feature highlighting the story of OCC and the emergence of a new generation of Native American players who will be trying to make it into Div 1 College lacrosse.

Syracuse Recruits

Postby UKLaxfan Tue Jun 26, 2007 1:42 pm

Hopefully, a number of OCC players will be transferring to Syracuse upon graduation from OCC.

It will be interesting to see how their free flowing style of offence works out at Div I.

If 5 or 6 players go from OCC to Syracuse (Please, Please) then they may decide to change the way Syracuse plays offence to suit the new players.

Cody Jamieson #22 OCC, was offensive player of the year in JUCO. He averaged nearly 8pts a game, scored 9 goals in the final and in one game had 8 Goals & 8 Assists.

He is a box of tricks and an incredible finisher.

it was nice to see a team playing with their own style. But will they be good enough to pull off those moves against a D1 D?

OCC at Div I

Postby UKLaxfan Wed Jun 27, 2007 3:58 pm

That's what'll be interesting...

Kent Squire-Hill played at World Games in 2006 and I remember him scoring one amazing goal where he beat three defenders.

Cody Jamieson scored lots in the World Indoor games 2007 and beat some of the top Professional players.

They both play summer ball Jr A Box lacrosse in Ontario for the undefeated Six Nations Arrows who are favourites for the Minto Cup.

OCC

Postby hollywood9 Sat Oct 06, 2007 10:40 pm

Dont get me wrong theses guys are sick!!! but alot of these kids wont go on to play D1 because there too dull!! they dont have the brain power otherwise done you think if they were that good then they would already gone D1. Ill be playing against these guys this year in the spring so i guess ill let you guy know how sick they are!! but according to the guy the are sophomores on HVCC team tell me you'll never play against any1 like it ever & i guess thats why team find it hard to defend against them!! But HVCC we're the only JUCO team last year to keep them under 16 goals.look forward to playing aginst them!! & recking some native Americans.

Is this Casey or Tom?

Good luck if you go to US to play JuCo at Hudson Valley CC, but before you start accusing players of being Dull or not having the Brain Power

You might be interested to know that English isn't the First Language on the Reservation.

What's your First Language?

"Done you" vs "Don't you" which is a question and therefore you end the sentence with a :?: 4/10 Could do better

How would you do in your exams if you had to take them all in French?

I hope you go to JuCo, I hope you play OCC and that you tell them they haven't got the Brain Power.

I hope they kick your butt!

well at least i got out here!! not all those kids are from off the reservation!! only like half that team if not more are American!! I agree that they are not speaking their first language. This year they have lost alot of players so hopefully there team isnt as good as last year!! but yeh these kids can ball!! as you might of seen from them killing the boys from Li!! but u got listen to the some of these guys talk bout each other they talk about other natives & how they could of been amazing lacrosse players and how they made there own minds up to do drugs ect and thats why im saying they are dumb for making those mistakes!!! theres a video documentary about the Thompson twins and this is a perfect example of my argument.
