If memory serves, they lost a road game to Colorado last year by 2 or 3 goals. IL always blares these headlines to grab attention. This is nothing new as stories/rumors about a possible jump have been around for awhile. Perhaps it will happen but I doubt they'll make a transition that fast. Michigan is a first class university and for them to jump into the fire in a year's time would seem like a rash move for them.

Jacksonville went from having no team at all to playing games in one season so it can be done, however, I'd really be surprised if Michigan does it that quickly.

Until I see or hear something official from the school, I'm adding this to one of the many other stories.

I stand corrected, great to see them going DI and jumping in right away.

Good news for the Ann Arbor area of Michigan, but maybe there's a trade-off with funding for local High School lacrosse programmes;

Having no idea of the annual budget for High School sports, I can only compare with the expense of running a coachless UK club funded by subscriptions, and players funding their own equipment and travel.

What's the 2011/12 budget for a mid-range UK University?

It'll depend massively on what the Universities AU provides to the club(wrt facilities), it costs around £2500 to run Southampton uni, but we get use of the training and match day facilities for free.
Currently M.I.A. - I'll be back.
