Sadly HMG concede to Liverpool. I think we're the only team in the league that haven't played them at all, which is a real shame. Hope things improve for them next season.

Nottingham v Cheadle Hulme. Is off, Notts have tried 3 different venues and sadly no pitches are fit. Too late to move to CHLC. Roll on next week when we have Hull coming to us.

You'll have to ask them, but I was left with the impression that they will struggle to get teams out for the rest of the season, home or away :(

Well played to Stoke, nail biting ending with us hitting the pipe with the last throw!

Really enjoyable game with the score yo-yoing and combatting the mud bath!

Finally after nothing new for months on this forum somebody posts something that sparks interest, unfortunately Wilmslow picked on the wrong person today, Please don't get all heady guys, nothing to get excited about, late hit in last second of game by wilmslow player with game already won, no need to do it but he soon realised his mistake and probably won't do it again, certainly not at Stockport anyway. No need to do it, game was over.

Refs handled the situation. worse things happen in other games that don't get any coverage, incident was started by Wilmslow, unfortunately they picked on the the wrong person.

Hand bags

14-2 to Stockport Game result

I heard the was an expulsion foul for stockport so it must have been a little more than just handbags, not an everyday occurance even in the prem?

Don't know, wasn't there, but handbags is usually quite childish and an expulsion does not necessarily mean it is any more than that!

Spoken to eye witnesses, seen the video clip. With 8 seconds in the game, a very late, very high hit gained a retaliatory punch, well deserved and arguably both should have got 2 mins.

That sparked off a general spring sap rising punch fest.

Refs with the wisdom of a 21st Century Solomon offered 4 expulsions to Wilmslow, 5 to Stockport, or alternately 1 to Stockport, and both teams agreed on the latter.

No blood, no broken bones, no one hurt, no real drama, as I said just handbags!

Surely the nature of the game will lead to 'late hits' and 'high hits'? Not all late hits are penalised and the laws take account of that, but to suggest that retaliation was 'well deserved' is not the best comment in the circumstances. Retaliation, though often understandable, is never acceptable. In addition, the comments earlier about 'picked on the wrong person', and 'soon realised his mistake and probably won't do it again', are also totally unnecessary.

Sanctimonious claptrap! Late hits do happen. High hits do happen. Late high hits to the neck or throats are dangerous, and when deliberate are akin to assault. So long as such deliberate fouls are not in themselves regarded and called as expulsion material I reckon that retaliation can be expected and excused,( note not approved, but excused) who ever doles out the hit. Now this may mean that refs need to take a tighter grip of such situations, but if they do, I would not want to hear players whinging that they are ruining the games etc etc.

I will go further, if any other club then Stockport had been involved the matter would have met with a universal shrug of the shoulders. I see similar situations at a number of other clubs, and suprise suprise it never gets a mention on here or causes a stir in the game.

As I said I saw the recording of the "brawl", total handbags dealt with by the refs, storm in a teacup, stroll on!
