They still would have had to have beaten us at full strength by 11 clear goals....

As I'm sure you'll agree - not an easy prospect

Well done to Newcastle and Liverpool,

Strength in depth is what it is all about. You both have strong squads and should do well in Div 2. Good Luck.

Just a Moan coming up

We turned up a Leeds with 7 Players which is a pathetic response from all Oldham players; we played to give them a run out before the cup. However I am not a happy chap at the moment, on its day we could have challenged to get in premiership 1 never mind 2. That's what happens when you have poor team loyalty and poor commitment. Hopefully we might be able to get a team out next season, dependent on poaching. I cannot see us getting a team out for any outstanding games left for this season, though.

Just another note to say to any club thinking of investing in a youth policy, “Don’t do it!" Kids today don't care about being loyal to their team that taught them the game, all they see is the clubs currently doing well in premiership 1 and off they go. Whilst those running the club just fork out on fund raising and trying to develop club, it’s just a waste of time and effort. I think the money invested in the youth would be better spent on semi pro's e.g for the cost of a yank we could possibly pay 4 quality players from the premiership £50 a game. Bigger clubs should back off and only be allowed to poach players once they are over 21 so we then get a return on our investment.

This might not be in the interest of developing Lacrosse, but do those running the game give a SXXX about those teams who have struggled to make a difference and have failed.

Very upset Oldham Club Sec

League restructure I told you so 10/3/2011(looking good on this one)
Prem division to two leagues will result in the prem division failing and being combined with Nemla 22/3/2012
the proposed restructure to 8 teams in each prem league will only last a couple of years until it has to be restructured again due to teams dropping out. 13/12/2012

There wouldn't be many players left in the Prem 1 if that was the case, Heaton Mersey would look very different

As would Cheadle Hulme

I should add a large number of players who move clubs are not poached.
They wish to move and approach the club they wish to play for

Just out of curiosity - Which games had panel refs?

We were the 5th game on the sched (3 in Prem1, 1 in Prem 2, then our game with Hull) but we didnt have a panel ref...Not massively bothered just curious

Congratulations to Newcastle/Liverpool

For Oldham promotion this season would have been a step to far but a lot of miles less to travel .Although the season has faded over the last few weeks the club has survived which was the realistic aim at the start of the season.
At times it has been difficult with lack of commitment etc and frustrating because at full strength we are a match for anybody in division.Still next season is not far away!!!!!
