Tournament for Japan

Postby Wacs10 Mon Mar 14, 2011 2:55 pm

Why dont we run a tournament to raise funds for victims of the Japanese tsunami disaster and the Japan Lacrosse federation, One day event with all entrance fees and proceeds going to the above.

I think we could run like the old Ted Donet tournament with half the team made up of U19's and the other half of sr players, one day event with made up or club teams.

What do people think, it would be great for English Lax to come together to raise money for a great cause!

Takesh was sick.

Pretty sure we could get a team out from Timperley. Might even see if we could get a Highlanders team down from Scotland.

Thanks for the responses guys:

Ok I think what we need is to decide on and organise the below:
Date of Tournament - taking into consideration ELA calender
Venue - thanks to Jason and Pud
Inform Japan Lacrosse Association
Manchester Japanese Society - ask them to be involved.
Raffle - ask clubs to donate prizes.
Entrance fee for each team
Publicity
T-Shirt Design and sale
Goals & Balls
Referee's - volunteers (no payment)
