My understanding is they won't be announced until mid-September to give every opportunity to all Clubs/Teams to confirm Registration with NEMLA.
You want to give a chance for New Clubs to enter Premiership (First Team Only) Leagues
Also you want established Clubs to confirm exactly how many teams they will be able to run for the whole of 2010-11 Season.
Players transfer or move between clubs and others move away for jobs or University or simply retire.
You don't want to have a situation that Div 5 had a few years back where a number of teams registered but only existed on paper and didn't fulfill fixtures.
As for schedule... the First 9 weeks of the season are Game Days
Game Day One - Saturday 25th September 2010
Game Day Two - Saturday 2nd October 2010
Game Day Three - Saturday 9th October 2010
Game Day Four - Saturday 16th October 2010
Game Day Five - Saturday 23rd October 2010
Game Day Six - Saturday 30th October 2010
Game Day Seven - Saturday 6th November 2010
Game Day Eight - Saturday 13th November 2010
Game Day Nine - Saturday 20th November 2010

Re: Fixtures
If the league are waiting for Durham that seems slightly ironic as I have been led to believe that a lot of the leagues changes revolved around them?
Any idea when the fixtures will be available!

Re: Fixtures
I'm not sure we are waiting on Durham tbh, none of the info I've got has any sign of them on.
I THINK the team that we were waiting for was actually us at Chester (Ahem, me at Chester... ) but I sent our lists off roughly a week ago now.
Fixtures should arrive any day now I think.

Judging from this post this time past week, they were due out last weekend.
No such luck though
Two Up!
Re: Fixtures
Be nice to know soon as the grounds staff at Chester are getting twitchy as to when we have games.

Re: Fixtures
Please explain to this outsider why all the matches are played on Saturday? Can't some games be held on Friday evenings or Sunday? Is it lack of fields?
To tie this in with the thread regarding on the shortage of officials, from my admittedly uniformed opinion, it would seem that you may get more folks officiating if they knew they could make more money, ie ref a game or two on Fri and then do a couple more on Sat.

Re: Fixtures
In the North leagues the general rule for senior league games is that they should be played on grass rather than artificial turf. That leaves weekends as the only possibility - can't think of any grass fields available with floodlights. The reasoning I guess has been that not all clubs/ teams have access to artificial turf for matches so those that have would have an advantage. Maybe that might change as the game develops further, and has been an on-going discussion point. Almost all teams train on a non-grass surface? The South league has a more flexible approach, but even they don't allocate fixtures to any days other than Saturday/ Sunday.
Referees do it for the love, rather financial reward. They get £25.00 per game and in some cases that hardly pays their expenses let alone paying them for their time, approx 2 hours on the field of play. Even those coaches who are paid will get more than that!! Hey, I hadn't really thought of that before!!! Time we paid them more, attracted more and then we might be able to judge them.

Re: Fixtures
Well nobody has asked the question yet so I will.
How come Heaton Mersey Guild are in North 3?
I could make an educated guess but would rather know the actual reason.
