Titanium assistance

Postby Dave254023 Fri Oct 20, 2006 8:59 am

I currently play with a krypto pro long pole. Last season i broke two of them and i know the one i have now is not gonna last me all season. So i need to and i want to, go Ti. Which titanium do people reccomend? Is it worth to go with the powergrip brine version? Is the TitanPro really worth it over the Titan Classic? Any ones thoughts?

I've heard Warrior Titanium poles are weak (although i don't know where I heard this, could be a rumour)
you should give the people at mohawk a call and see if they will make you a defence length Titanium Box shaft that would be a true monster

It's not always the poles that suck, its the way they are used, if you're a cross checker i'm sure you could damage most Ti poles.

With regards to the Mowhawk Ti - it weighs a TON! so in a pole it would probably hinder you're movement, especially if you're going from a KPro, so don't bother with it.

I've used titan pros now for quite a while, and they are hardly scratched, i don't over play them, however they do get a good beating and they're fine.

I have the STX Ti in A/M length and again its a tank, however it'll never break, slightly on the weighty side!

I can't say much about Brine Ti, only ever had the swizzle version and that held up to everything thrown at it. The Ti22 is the new brine Ti shaft.

In all I would say that the Titan series are great shafts, good weight great feel. Again tho classic/Pro is a preference, personally i would go for the Pro.

the attack middie stx Ti is thick as hell, i have played with it but supposedly the d pole version is much thinner to keep it lighter.

I train with a wooden pole, so weight is not so much of a problem.

Some of Wales D men had the STX Ti for canada and 1 guy bent it in a few training sessions. Could have been a one off though!

I'm sure I've seen a table with various strength tests vs weight and cost on our US equivilant, although it did have my scientific rigour monacle burning with intrigue.
