@ laxjunkie.

Are you are compiling suggestions? My comment above, written when I was getting a little frustrated, isnt about making the site more bling or adding new features, but simply about being able to plan the season ahead by there being a list of events for the coming year.

Is there an expected timeline that the ELA will be publishing an up to date calender?

The ELA are looking to produce an all embracing "Special Events" Calendar fully co ordinated to include men's, women's, boys, girls & schools tournaments etc. Having been involved for more years than I care to think just trying to get a men's & boys calendar together I do not envy them the job.

Yes it needs doing & publishing in good time but it does rely on others planning ahead, co operating & inputting the information, dates, venues, etc (& NOT CHANGING THEIR MINDS!)

The latest version of the Special Events Calendar 2011/12 covers all known events in the British men's game North & South, plus J&S, FIL & ELF tournaments, women's territorials & National Schools, Bluesfest, Berlin Open, Dublinfest, Salou, etc.

No wonder this sport stays firmly in the "minority" bracket when it is so difficult to find out what's going on & forward planning to avoid unnecessary clashes

@ Wildcat :Is there an expected timeline that the ELA will be publishing an up to date calender? - a new "diary" will be up in the next week or so once some of the bugs with the current site have been fixed :

I believe all suggestions are welcome I have found it's best to e-mail web@englishlacrosse.co.uk

@ le grande papa - great name ! - can you email your most up to date events to the same address

Does anybody else have problems viewing on android phones? I've got a samsung galaxy s, and once the browser had loaded, everyone I navigate on the same screen its reloads the page, leading to quite a frustrating experience! This could just be me, but I think it might be a problem with the site as I dont experience this issue on other websites...

You'll have to forgive me if I am reposting what has already been said, but about 5 pages in this thread still seemed to be fairly catty so I just skipped to posting. I appreciate with the lack of tone you get posting on forums that statement may seem to be fairly ironic, I can assure you wasn't intended to be!

As stocklax26 posted earlier in this thread I like the England Hockey website. It's easy to use (which is obviously incredibly important) but looks fresh, clean and professional. The 'fresh' and 'clean' comments feel free to dismiss, I probably would if I hadn't have said It myself, but looking professional is something the ELA website should strive to do as, as others have already said, it the could well be the first impression of the sport for many 'could-be' players.

I've also just posted, for another reason, a link to the shinty website in the Archlebel Lacrosse thread which I also think is worth a look. Without going into too much detail shinty, in some ways, is fairly comparable to lacrosse in the UK, so perhaps a more valid benchmark than Hockey website(?) (although, why not aim high?). On a side note (and at risk of, more or less, repeating what I've just said in the AL thread) I do wonder if the ELA could learn more from the, apparent, rival of shinty going on in Scotland at the minute than just the website(?), but we'll leave that for another day.

Anyway, my two-pence worth. Do with it what you will.

Phil

::EDIT:: Sorry, I should make it clear: I'm not out to, unnecessarily, knock the ELA or criticise their work. I'm sure that they work hard and have a difficult job. I, like others, just feel the website desperately requires work and am glad to see that they have decided it is a matter which requires their attention.

Just wanted to say that I have been very impressed with the assault on media, social networking, and website updates that the ELA has been executing recently. Well done all involved.

Well? any updates?

No write ups from the weekend for the North of England, no Stats.

A write up on the U19's vs US LDO's game in Lincoln that no one knew about?

No improvement!

This is the first I'd heard about this game as well, pretty gutted actually as I was no more than a 5 min walk from the pitch it was played on as it was happening :(

They have been advertising for someone to write the North roundups etc

Have you kept any stats to give them to post up?

There is a site under construction by the ELA, it's being worked on as we speak and will be launched when ready.... I did communicate this sometime ago and confident they will go live soon!

question...is it the NGB's job to write up league games or keep stats of games?
do the FA do that? just a question?

good job by danny buckland for writing up the south stuff...where is the south info coming from, why isnt this replicated in the north?
