Any idea who'll have a stall set up?
I know NorthernSoul plan to on the Saturday and Sunday but wondered if others such as UKLacrosse, Hattersleys etc would.

Ok, I'll get it started. IMO, Wales takes the title this year after losing a close one last year.

Let's go Wales, let's go Wales, let's go Wales

With a Welsh U19 Silver? :D

Apparently ArchLevel are recording some of the matches, they're asking on FB atm for suggestions.

Yorkshire roster was posted some time ago!

If what I've heard is true, Wales senior team won't be that strong!

Cheshire favorites followed by lancs if both put full teams out.

Followed by scotland who stand a chance if the above teams do not turn out in force.

No england unis North? why do england unis not just enter one team why weaken the team.

League restructure I told you so 10/3/2011(looking good on this one)
Prem division to two leagues will result in the prem division failing and being combined with Nemla 22/3/2012
the proposed restructure to 8 teams in each prem league will only last a couple of years until it has to be restructured again due to teams dropping out. 13/12/2012

No team rosters received yet. Did ask for all team managers to register their team rosters by Wednesday 27th April with the opportunity to add any additional names right upto the start of the Tournament. It's important we cast an eye over the player's registration before the weekend as no player can play for more than 1 team obviously, plus they need to be eligible for their county, country or university.

There's plenty to do on the Friday & Saturday before the Tournament starts without being inundated with 250 - 300 names to check thank you!!

Used to be only 1 English Unis team before they split North & South. This year North were not sure they could submit a team & we had England U19s wanting to enter 2 teams in order to help with their trialing & selection process. You don't get many opportunities in the UK to play in an elite tournament with 23 man squads, learn bench discipline, etc so good development opportunity for the players & management.

Tournament works best with 12 teams. Impossible with 11 or 13 teams!!

Unis North will be providing scrimmage opposition over the weekend for those teams that want some extra games. Will be 4 full size grass pitches plus astroturf available over the weekend.

Just hoping for a dry weekend with some sunshine please

Keep getting split? Been split since 2007...

There are advantages in EU South and EU North organising themselves separately:
1) Less travel for trials and training than a single Universities team.
2) If the organisation of one team falls by the wayside, the other can still run their own trials and training. Which is what has happened this year.
3) Greater opportunities for participation in representative lacrosse for university students.

the pom wrote:the overall standard is lower than it used to be

I know, it's terrible how the standard of Cheshire and Lancashire has fallen since 1955. Oh wait, that's not what you meant :)

In all seriousness, the BNCs are the single best innovation in representative lacrosse in recent times. One venue, a dozen teams, two days full of games. Great for referees to get time running a three-man system, coaching and assessment. The various national Under 19 teams clearly value this opportunity, all three have sides there. And Clive had to turn Bermuda away in a previous year - other countries would love to have a competition like this!

It'll continue to be elite as long as the sides comprise players from multiple teams. I look forward to many more years of the same...

I agree the standard of lacrosse is a lot weaker by Lancashire & Cheshire

Last years decision to not allow England Squad players to compete doesn't help matters

Representing your county should be an honour and a privilege not a chore

you shouldn't be eligible to represent your country unless you play for your county

County teams should be very strong if trials were attended and the best players selected

Lancashire:
Brooklands
Heaton Mersey
Rochdale
Timperley
Manchester Wacs
Boardman & Eccles
Ashton
Liverpool
Oldham

Cheshire:
Cheadle
Stockport
Mellor
Wilmslow
Poynton
Norbury
Stopfordians
Cheadle Hulme
Chester

Sorry I can't make it up there this weekend.

Hope you all have a good tournament and I know Clive and his team of hard workers will - as always- be the great hosts and organisers of this tournamnet.

South may continue it's progress again this year - I know the players always look forward to the opportunity the BNC provides.

Have to echo everything that Rob Powell says.

And weather be nice to Wilmslow and the BNC's

That's not the roster. That was the President's team that took part in the Yorkshire Cup. The Yorkshire squad has the Sheffield Steelers and Sheffield University players added to it, with the removal of some of the President's players.

Has the Lancashire or Cheshire squads finished their preparations yet? (aka the Thursday phone-around)
