As wondering if anyone could clear up a legal butt end for me? Does it have to have a rubber butt or will tape do as long as the metal is covered?
Also are bottle caps allowed on the bottom of shafts (providing teeth are facing inwards)?
Are international and British rules the same on this?

Re: Butt End
Bottle caps are specifically prohibited.
Re: Butt End
This is the FIL rules on the issue. 15.4.
The butt-end of the crosse handle must either be solid with no sharp edges or, if hollow, it must have its open end adequately covered with plastic, rubber or tape to prevent injury.
The use of metal caps is prohibited.

Re: Butt End
Idk if the brits rules are the same but watevs im from america and i know you can put tape over the hole on the bottom of your shaft and then tape on a couple of canadian quarters or something like that and then just make a butt out of it
Re: Butt End
just wondering...
Could i put a coin on the end of the stick to cover the hole and then do my tape job on that? or would this count as illegal?

Re: Butt End
Sometimes it is best not to ask a question!
From my point of view coins, covered by tape are legal as they are no more dangerous, and probably less so that a shaft with no coins but with tape over the metal edges. Other refs may not agree though.

Re: Butt End
I think if you taped a Loonie (coin) to your stick and covered it like they did in the video no ref would check. If it's visible the ref might/should do something about it. Moral of the story, don't make it visible
