pretty much exactly what i was thinking - and they've given everyone a whole month to get it sorted! not only that they've picked december as the month to do it in too - genius ... pure genius

As far as I understand it. The ELA got a decent amount of money from Sport England, and they need to justify this to seal future funding. They need to provide statistics of demographics of players etc etc, this is why the ELA are being forced to update their databases, and what better way to do that but to get the clubs to do it themselves...
As for registration from the end of December... I can't see how it would affect anyone if a player is not registered on the site, but it will help everyone if they are. Not only that, they get LacrosseTalk, so the good thing is if a new player joins your club you can register them and they start getting the magazine rather than a few copies being passed round the club occasionally.

Basically what i have heard its a easy way to get all registered players details online.
Highlighted problems:
-laxforums is taking over.
-what happens if we dont register
-what happens if players dont access the internet
-what happens if you dont have an email address (people still exist)
-laxforums is definitely taking over

hey guys as a club the ela have informed us that any players not registered before the 31st dec will not be covered by the ela insurance and therefore will not be elegible to play games in SEMLA. That was straight from david shuttleworth (top guy at ela).
I dont know what happens after i guess players joining clubs half way throu season must be catered for which creates a big flaw in the ela plan.
What confused me is that us registeing players with semla does not actually get us covered by ela. we need to join the ela via website for that cover. SEMLA player registration is just to help with players transferring between clubs and contact lists.
It does seem weird thou that they do not seem to have planned for players who do not have access to comps.

We got 3 identical letters and invoices one addressed to each team captain...top planning!!
