Just get a ball, your stick, your gloves and mess about. Get as comfortable as possible with your stick in both hands. The summer is best used for getting in shape and working on stick skills.Wall ball or passing with a mate would also help.

Other than that you can get a wooden pole or old shaft, attach a weight to a string, attach the string to the middle of the pole, and whilst holding the pole horizontally with both hands, wind the sting/weight up and down. This strengthens the muscles which control your fingers and wrists and not only increase strength and endurance, but also coordination. You can lift heavier weights for strength, or decrease the weight and go for speed.

Follow this guide to ensure success this coming season. Wall Ball

 Add more repetitions to each step
 Lower your hand down the pole when doing one-handed
 Add in Around-the-World passes

 If you have a partner have them feed you and vice-versa
