Skipping

Postby UKLaxfan Mon Jan 14, 2008 1:13 pm

Skipping is another exercise alongside SAQ training that helps that first step explosiveness and ability to react and move quickly.

Boxers all use skipping to improve footwork, they have quite a good incentive as some bloke will punch them in the face very hard if they don't move quickly.

Basically it comes down to ability to play on the balls of your feet, most SAQ drills, speed ladders or cone running drills emphasize this skill.

The more you practice the skill the better you get at it.

or as the late great Bill Shankly put it "the more we practice the luckier we get!"
