Its all a matter of opinion mate. A debate about the best stick could go on for pages.

I guess as preference goes, I'm a big fan of the proton power. You'll find a lot of love for that head

The best stick is the one that works for you, its a wooly response but probably the best you'll get out of a forum. Next time you're at practice see if you can try your friends sticks for 5 minutes at a time. it may well help you out. Don't feel you need to get the most expensive either as all heads/shaft/stringing combos have different pros and cons.

Its probably also worth noting that the stick won't make a difference to how you throw, its the stringing that affects it.
I've seen far too many people play with a well strung stick and then go out and buy the head thinking it'll throw identically.

A well strung stick is probabily more important than a top of the range head

if you believe the advertising then the K18 (basically a proton power but for a crankshaft) is the best.
"Engineered by Kyle Harrison for the end line to end line player

10° design for a quicker release on the offensive end
Strong, solid checking stick for the defensive end
Just enough flex for facing off "

but once again... that works for him (if he actually uses it?) but may not be best for others! i liked the look and shape of the evo pro and bought it, never looked back since! granted that the way its strung also helps the choice to keep it!

certainly,
i wasn't meaning to imply that it was the truth, advertising mearly, among our attack/attacking middies we have
2 Truths
2 evo pros
Proton Power
Razer
Penitrator
Deuce
Gait Icon
Gait Torque
Revo Pro

Actual head/shaft make hardly any difference.

Whatever head you get its important that you string a good pocket on it that matches your playing style.

After that its all preference, weight, stiffness etc...

I play mid and i've used the following in the past season and a half

Vapour
Heat
Triton
Torque

Soon to be a torque stung with composite mesh.

Guys on my team use, E3, Helix, Motvie, Triton, Truth, Revo pro.

sorry tom, i didnt mean for it to sound like you were trying to promote the stick! i knew what u meant!

have to agree with J-lo, the comfortability (if thats a word) of a stick is mainly due to the stringing style and pocket!

don't lie you thought i was a sucker for merchandising

lots of people seem to like the pinch on the evo/revo pros and i think the scoop shape is slightly nicer than on some gait heads. preference is what it is

Long and short of it, is there is no real answer to this question. Each to their own.
As said b4, Stringing is prob highest on list of priorities with a stick. Then just pick something which is rite for u.
I have personally used
Hype(Bit heavy, but I didnt know as was my first stick)
Liquid(I got conned lol)
Evo Pro x2 (Loved them, tho dying cos of FO)
just bought a new Proton power(have yet to throw with it yet, but should be sweet)

For me, I wanted something fairly pinched and stiff for face off.

As for other middies, ranges from Helix, Proton power, Evo Pro, Razor, Triton, basically endless list...lol

try other peoples sticks and see what they like, and try find out how u like to throw, with whip or not.

Well you all know I could go one forever about this thread.. so CJ's simplistic view!

Middies if you face need a head that doesn't warp too easily.
A light head will help when shooting unless you've got huge arms and upper body.

The head is important, but so is the shaft to get the balance right.
Stringing is also important, but its VERY personal.

Suggestions:

Evo Pro
Proton Power
E3
Finilizer

shafts:
Titan Pro
Kryptolyte (blue one!)
Dolomite
Titan Classic
(sorry i'm a warrior fan when it comes to shafts!)

I've got some proton powers and titan classics if anyone wants one,.,. or two!

But i find combos have to be well balanced, its all about how it feels...and thats about it. If it feels right its a keeper, but if it doesn't then it needs changing, only you will know that!

it depends what kind of player you are at the end of the day, for me i've got the finalizer head for it's face off and ground ball abilities
