Hands Free

Postby LacrosseRob Sun Jan 30, 2011 9:26 pm

I've found that I've come to the stage now where i'm confident and comfortable enough in my stick handling skills to beat a few defenders to the goal but I can rarely get my hands free in time to shoot or if I do my shots are rushed and innacurate, It's something that's hard to replicate at training because it's never going to be intense as a competitive match but I don't want to keep losing possesion for my team by running towards goal all the time trying to learn. Any tips on how to improve or drills?

learning to quick stick may help, allows ya to get ur hands free and quick snap of the wrist for the shot.

Failing that just practice in your room. (i know this is a rubbish training technique and doesn't overly help) but imitate beating players, how you would cradle (tucking the stick in etc, then quickly mimic the shot, chock up on the stick keeping the head close to your own head so no trail checks can get ya.

Mark Millons offensive wizardy may help.
