What are the best ones for defenders, light and small, but quite protective?

the best are none at all save your money most good middies and attckers do not wear shoulder pads

it depends, i think most people dont wear any shoulderpads, but because i popped my ac joint i prefer a bit of protection there, so wear brine avalanches

I've got Warrior 6.0 MLL ones, only because I've broken my collarbone a few times.

Any liner you can get will do the job.

try the rugby tops with a little padding..

I think warrior do a similar thing as well. they are light and dont affect movement too much

most defenders tend to go without, I play in an old pair of stx ones where you can take off the bulky shoulder caps, so you just have the bit that protects your heart and ribs from shots, and the top of the shoulder by the neck for any poor chasing checks, but leave you loads of freedom. I think a couple of people do similar ones now, but not many to chose from. The padded tops are quite good though i think

I didn't wear shoulder pads till this year when i got the new Brine Rhinoskin and I don't regret wearing them. With out the shoulder caps on they are really light and flexible and do no restrict your movement at all. But they still offer enough protection so that you do not feel the checks etc. as you would when you do not wear any shoulder pads.

get some rugby pads they protect you and are not big atall and do not restrict you when playing not dear to

I play with Brine Rhinoskin, without the velcro attached plastic shoulder covers,

great for when a ball hits you square in the chest, its pretty much slightly padded underarmour so doesnt impede your movement at all although when we had the stupidly hot day at the yorkshire shield i was sweating so much i ended up playing with gloves and a helmet, ( i dont wear elbow pads) which at training the attack think is funny to try and hit my elbows before they realise i train with a hickory i got of Cheeky hahhaa aka the Painmaker

are you mad...... i can sometimes understand when a keeper doesn't, but aren't you just asking for trouble (otherwise known as broken/fractured elbows?)
if anyone saw liam's elbow at the london tournie its was mahoosive, and that occured from a slash THROUGH his arm pads!!!

slightly yes, the realism behind is it that mine were stolen and i havent managed to get a suitable replacement as of yet.

realistically the chance of me holding the ball for more than around 2 seconds is 0.00000000000000000000000001recurring % lol
