Goalie Gloves

I now we have had plenty of people askin the best goalie gloves around and we always get the same answers Superfreaks and STX I pros, after having both gloves i think the the superfreaks are to restricting and the i pros are unprotected (thumb), can any one suggest some gloves that are both well protected and unrestricting

Brine Deft's would be a pretty good choice then. the thing is though, with stx gloves the thumb protection is poor whilst with warrior gloves they're kinda restricting.

Ye thats what i found with the stx gloves i kept gettin my nail ripped off, defts look ok, but i saw some k18s im not sure what there like

if i remember you can get an insert to protect your thumb, joe garvey who used to be at hitchin mentioned it one time (i think) which could get round the probs with the STX glove

apparently the k18s thumbs are just as bad.

it's like fresher said, you can buy STX thumb inserts which are supposed to turn any glove into a 'goalie' glove.

I've got a pair of the K18 and believe me they're probably as protected as you can get... massive piece of hard plastic surrounding thumb and all the way down the hand... when i first got them my D-pole tried slashing the top of my thumb... nothing. getting hit right on the tip of the thumb is still pretty painful.. but markedly less than in normal gloves... hope this helps.. oh the thumbs pretty stiff as well, took me a couple of months to wear it in and get any bend in it at all, was playing with 'thumbs up' for a while

I think the I pro's thumb protection is good enough. I've got a pair myself and they've done me proud. Dan hunter at EG has the superfreaks and had his thumb nail ripped back a couple of times if not more. I'd buy the I pro's (and have done)!
