Goalies Stick length

What length would be around the average for the handle on a goalies stick.

Its all down to preference really. Mine is about 3 or 4 inches longer than an attack shaft.

This guy reckons there is a kind of formula for it.

40 inches is the "standard" goalie length shaft. By comparison, the standard short stick shaft is 30 inches. Although I'm shorter than moffat, I play with a longer shaft. I cut 2 inches off of a standard goalie shaft, just to avoid digging the butt end into the ground (a habit I've since overcome anyway, but now I'm used to the length).

Longer = more reach over attackmen for clears, but more stick to be checked and more weight
Shorter = lighter & more protected, but less clearance over or around attackmen for clearing passes

I usually go shorter for indoors and the longer length I talked about above for outdoors.
