Android App Now Available - Free

So good news the Android App is now approved and in the Market Place available for free download.

If you want push notifications you need to register in the app with your email address but other than that enter your login details and access LaxForums on the move in a great free app!!!

Hi,

Absolutely this is the plan for the start of next season, the iPhone app is waiting for approval from Apple and once this is released I will be introducing a few small adverts to cover all the costs, nothing major though and it keep the app free for everyone to use.
In the next few weeks a video section will be deployed in the apps linking to highlight reels I'm starting to compile. I may introduce an uploads section with moderation for users to upload their own highlights.

The leagues is the hardest and most challenging part of this app, as we need to ensure the adding of scores is correct and verified somehow but absolutely we want users to be able to sit in the bar after the game and login to see the results and new league positions.

Looks good so far, but i'm finding it quite slow-ish, even on wifi there is a delay while it has to connect to the server every time i navigate to a new area, on 3g its quite a pain.

It could be because this is the first time i'm using it, does it cache data at all?

Slow? Must be your phone or signal? It works fine with my GalaxyS, I have ensured the images are very small and take no time at all to load.

Keep using it and I hope it works better down the line for you, maybe cached data will kick in eventually.

I've downloaded it and it seems really decent. Took me a while to figure out the navigation since its laid out differently to the main site. No long waiting times for me either on my galaxy s. Is there a way to use the "view new posts" feature from the forums? Going to the "current" tab seems to do a similar job but just shows recent posts.

Edit: just found the checkbox in the settings menu which means my current tab now does exactly this.

There is a feature for push notifications as well so if someone replies to a thread or sends you a pm you can get a alert on your phone, check the settings out to add this feature!
