Re: Issues with availability of referees
That's a really good point and it may be part of the referee strategy proposed to the Clubs. The original idea was that when a Panel ref was reffing he would do so with one of the home refs and help develop skills, understanding and confidence. The flaw has been that it rarely happens and certainly ...

Re: Issues with availability of referees
Simon Peach, as Chairman of the Referees Committee has taken over temporary control of the refereeing allocations while Steve Jarvis is occupied with work issues etc. With the constraints of Clubs having to provide home referees and so few independent Panel referees, Simon's and Steve's hands are ti...

Reading Uni 17 Essex 2
Essex are a great bunch of mostly inexperienced players who just kept trying and fighting to the end, very impressive attitude which will come good with more experience.

Re: Results 26/10/13
There appears to be a misunderstanding of the decision.
The decision was not to further punish the Blues for failing to abide by the byelaw.
The game vs Hillcroft remains as a 10-0 walkover and the Blues 3s game remains as a win to Welwyn

Re: Issues with availability of referees
Tommy The issue of refereeing is an ongoing issue that can only be dealt with over a long timescale and with complete commitment from all SEMLA Clubs. 1. The 2 man refereeing issue is being discussed at the moment and SEMLA is evolving a plan that works in the context of the South and does not curre...

Re: Results 26/10/13
Gents It's a fact that not many people take the time to read the byelaws and only become aware of them when something goes wrong, mostly people rely on what they've heard and been told by others. Therefore, the intention of my comments above was to make sure that players and Clubs could see that a c...

Re: Results 26/10/13
Games are to be played from the top down unless there are special circumstances and the Fixture Secretary gives permission in advance. With the above game, there were extenuating circumstances that the Fixture Secretary took into account and agreed retrospective permission. This is a lesser known by...

Reading Thirds 17 Hillcroft Thirds 8 Good game to referee, only a couple of personal fouls, great attitude from both teams. Hillcroft's massive squad a great indication of a club on the rise! Credit to Reading's school boys making their debut in senior lacrosse and to Reading Uni newbies, great all ...

Re: Can we really grow LAX in the Winter?
OBTD, the £3.8M sounds a lot but is for three (or is it 5?) years and is basically to cover the salaries of the professional staff and running expenses. The funds available for actual development are a fraction of a fraction of that figure. The ELA gives grants to the men's game through the MPC with...

Re: Can we really grow LAX in the winter?
Alienating 80% of the lax community- obviously a bit of a "finger in the wind poll" but you're right, there would be lots of people who would moan and groan. However all of the complaints would be from a purely selfish, short termed viewpoint from yesterday's men ( see above). Everyone is...
