Re: League Format / Fixtures / International Breaks

We had a 4 free (dry) weekends prior to Christmas. Although I agree the South has seen some of the worst storms for a while, up North, its been wet. Its usually wet up North over the winter months. That's no suprise. What was the purpose of 4 free weekends? Play in games - only work if the league i...

Re: League Format / Fixtures / International Breaks

But is a 14 game league season for Prem 1 players enough? If games are scheduled and played every week starting mid Sept, then they'll be almost done by Christmas. Maybe Prem 1 needs more teams......10 or 12? Whilst I appreciate that this would lead to some onesided matches, it would stretch the se...

Re: League Format / Fixtures / International Breaks

Never fear grubs, all the issues you mention have recently been discussed and going to be addressed for next year. Firstly , there are going to be no gaps in the fixtures for next year and NEMLA have decided to do away with international breaks. All games will now go ahead unless a team has more tha...

Massive result for Wilmslow, I don't think many would have predicted that!
Its blown the Prem 2 race wide open, although Steelers remain hot favourites.

Re: Rebirth of Oldham Senior lacrosse

Oldham Lacrosse is about to start training again. The aim is to develop a team with Old & Ex players(from any team) and new starters to prepare for next season 2014/15 in P3. The aim is to develop a senior team ready for our existing junior program to move into. These session will be run by the...

Re: competitive match

I know trig just old and bitter and looking back to the good old days when you went to a game not knowing if you would win or lose and having a good game could change the result. If I was u19 and not playing in prem 1 I would probably only play on Sunday night as the sat games are a waste of time. ...

Re: competitive match

no today was a bit different. as per last week we had selection issues with the first being short due to injuries availability and Scotland training(normally a good thing) so we were very depleted again.6-7 players we were playing Cheadle who are the best team in our league and would be a battle on...

Wilmslow 18-4 Leeds.

An extremely disappointing game for Leeds today, not helped by starting the match with only 8 men!

I think its warrants mentioning that Cheadle beat Stockport 11-9 at the weekend. Massive congratulations to Cheadle on finally putting an end to Stockports winning streak! In other news, Leeds 6 - 4 Norbury A really tight match all the way with Leeds finally opening up a 2 goal advantage towards the...

Re: competitive match

Some intersting points being made. I think at the lower end of any league set-up there have always been thrashings handed out when new teams with limited experience face more established players. However, the problems that happen in North 1 mainly occur due to the teams near the bottom of the table ...
