Re: Clearing Rule

A lot of points raised would improve the speed of the game. Introduce a 10 second count to get the ball over the half way line would stop the goalie's walking it up at snail's pace. The referees have enough to do and get too much abuse as it is from players without creating an extra issue to argue ...

UKlaxfan, one of the most articulate and informative posts on the subject I've read, which is par for the course for you sir. In addition, Moaning Git (by the way what is a moaning git :?: ) I always enjoy your posts as they are often thought provoking and challenging rather than simply whining or b...

Re: England team selection for 2010 world series

If these Americans and Canadians were not good enough to get on to their National teams why would we want them??? Maybe for the same reason the Aussies welcomed Brendan Mundorf last time around. Same reason the Iroquois take Cody Jamieson or others who probably hold (or are eligible for) either U.S...

Re: Re:

Coach Tom, Im currently playing at Avon Old Farms and we were preseason ranked 15th in the country. We have opened the season with a close 5-4 loss to McDonogh and two wins versus Western Reserve Academy and Worthington-Kilbourne. After a few more games and some wins against the powerhouses we face...

All are very important but as kids and parents become involved in the game, #3 and #7 become paramount for the parents. Nothing worse than hearing parents who know nothing about the rules or infractions berating officials or others from the sidelines. Young kids often pick up on this and begin emula...

...I think the Associate Member teams should have been placed in their own group. They did do something like this on 2002, but it was not well received. Anyone know how the game times were determined? There's a rule that face-off times of consecutive matches for the same team must be at least 14 ho...

Apologize in advance if I offend but Scotland, Ireland and Germany should easily win all their games. In deference to other's assertions that each team should have chance to win it all, I think the Associate Member teams should have been placed in their own group. Other organizations have a probatio...

Great if you make it. He had time and space to shoot in a more "traditional" way which is what I'd prefer in a close game.

Better to get it right rather than right now! Patience is a virtue :D Expect it to be released in the next few days This isn't the NFL There is a process and it takes time  Wise words but most of us probably don't know what the "process" entails leading people to wonder why it ta...

Talk about trick plays, how about the Armadillo! 1982 game North Carolina vs. Washington and Lee. Play part one. W&L score to make it 1-0, then employ the "Armadillo" to slow down the dominate Tar Heel offense. You'll see it around 3 mins into the tape. Not great video but pretty funny...

Re: Full Competition Schedule

To All, As you can attest, the draw for the 30 nations will be a difficult one to work out. The FIL has just informed us that it will not be ready until the 17th of March. The 2010 Event Staff is just as anxious as you, but I am thankful that I am not responsible for drafting the schedule and I app...

They've gotten more snow than usual this year but that it was very cold in NJ, MD and D.C. in February shouldn't have come as a shock. That's why I bailed on that part of the country as soon as I could :D

USA jumped on them early, 5-0 after first quarter with Westervelt looking sharp. Duke looked a bit out of sync on both ends. USA defense played pretty well and Duke's offense had nothing going. Duke goalie had the old "deer in the headlights" look and was quickly pulled after allowing the ...
