Sticking with the Durham issue, do you really expect to see such a turn around in 1 season? Maybe if in 2/3 years time if Durham are still practically only turning out a team of imports, and are still only running a single team then there is something worth questioning. The system needs to have time...

Looks like they were examining a bend in the shaft to me. 49.20 shows the bend quite well

In Stevenage you're pretty much 50/50 between Welwyn and Hitchin. Hope that helps

Re:

English players don't get discouraged and quit, they use the experience as a learning curve to make sure it doesn't happen again... that good ol' Brtish spirit! I thought this was a good example (also bear in mind this is football we're talking about, 19-0 is MASSIVE!) http://tinyurl.com/yjmqdxh :D...

I've been following this thread and just wanted to put in a comment about the high scorelines from my own perspective. Back in 2005 I was playing for a the newly formed Herts Comets team in a local derby match against Welwyn Warriors. The score line finished 29-1 to Welwyn (with the 1 Comets goal be...

I know this is a slight detour from the main argument, and whilst Herts never had any issue with travel during my time there (other than lack of players) it is worth noting that for one of the campuses it is a contractual obligation with the University and the council that students will not bring th...

I think with AUs it comes down to their mission statement. Some target inclusion and therefore fund most sport reasonably, whilst others primarily go for "Elite Sport" and provide minimal funding to other sports. Having been through the transition from the former to the latter I can unders...

Re:

Only playing home games sounds great! We should all do it! Perhaps I'm misinterpreting your post but it seems a somewhat snide remark. Birmingham bulls had been informed they would have additional funds and therefore they signed up to the league. The university then pulled this funding, and the bul...

I understand your viewpoint but I don't think it practice its particularly worthwhile for our sport. Perhaps a requirement of "within 2 seasons the requirements are met". But there should also be flexibility for situations where teams are moved on from their existing facilities, or for tha...

I think some people forget that we're an amateur sport, played for fun. The league system is a construct to provide a framework, and understandably motivation for improvement, however the primary focus is surely to get out and play lacrosse each week. By adding a couple of the Colchester players to ...

As a player yesterday was the first time I have actually seen this call used in a match I've been playing in (It may even have been Fifteen Peter Twenty that used it, EG Vs. Welwyn?).

I have to say it was used very well and was nice to see verbal communication between the Ref and players.

I also believe one of the reasons Cambridge still play in SEMLA as well as BUCS is because they have a large number of non-uni players playing for them too. These wouldn't have turned out for yesterdays BUCS match either. ALthough this takes nothing away from a good win for Northampton!

Re: Re:

I would doubt that 'dispensation' has ever been granted. I appreciate the gist of what you're saying, however my point was I made the phone call to the ELA before we ordered the Rage Cages to clarify the issue with the rounded corners as we needed goals on two separate sites and we had a number of ...

Although on the subject of Rage Cages - When I was organising the Comets team I contacted the ELA before purchasing the Rage Cages and was told that these had disspensation for the use of the rounded corner variation use in UK competition, despite the rules not being ammended to account for this.

I think you'll get plenty of individual preferences in this thread, not to mention the way you string your head will have a massive effect on how it handles for you. I personally haven't found anything better than the Gait Torque, and the STX Titanium regularly gets good feedback (although I haven't...

Heard on the grapevine - Herts Comets 12 - Essex 1

Also lots of positive words from Herts guys about the Essex team - they played to the whistle, never gave up and played good clean yet physical lacrosse. Look forward too seeing more of them.
