Re: Results 5th March

Premier 3: Hull 1-0 York. Anyone else feel that "too much uni work" is a poor excuse for conceding a NEMLA game? I wonder if Freddie can comment on the worth of a degree from York  Never happened when I was captain, which is perhaps not entirely unrelated to my final degree grade, w...

Re: Gloves, under Gloves

My old coach reccommended latex gloves at the beginning of a game. After the first quarter/once you're warm, take em off. Depends what position you're playing; as a middie I found I only needed them on for half the first quarter or so, but in a static game in attack/D you might want something less s...

Re: Face off against a faster opponent

My old coach said tape a ball to the floor in your room and practice.

Should improve speed of clamp and train your muscles up to have that elasticity to help snap your head over the ball almost instinctively.

Re: UK lacrosse questions from US guy

In agreement with the rest Id say pick your uni by course and reputation first. If it's between a few and lacrosse is the decider then look at what division your closest, or uni, team plays in on a Saturday. At the end of the day, uni lacrosse varies greatly and is dependent upon who decides to play...

Re: Referee Shortage - What's the Solution?

... Glad to see a lot of discussion re how to increase the number of the referees in to the game. The key here is not to catch the odd old retiring player who still has a half decent pair of legs and can run. We would be far better encouraging younger referees at Junior level and advance them as th...

Re: Lobby your MP on allowing the Iroquois to travel

Done. Graham Brady (con) MP for Altrincham and Sale West. Also head of the 1911 committe, the Conservative back bench committee, so hopefully might have some sway.

He's raised issues about lacrosse in the commons before so I'd expect him to try again.

Footage (Scream) on the upper end of Oxford Road usually does big screen, cheap pitchers and burgers and gets a decent atmosphere for big games

Re: What one thing would make the difference

Yes, starting playing earlier is one aspect but for years we've missed the biggest opportunity to foster lacrosse at university here in the UK. Its been staring us in the face and we've ignored it. I know university is primarily learning/ studying but its also the greatest chance to train regularly...

BLUES Supermarket...

Ok, for us Northerners making the long journey down south we don't want to be weighing down the cars with additional food and drink. So, where's the best large supermarket near Blues/on the way to Blues if you were heading round the west side of the M25? (Obviously this is just for us to buy all of ...

I also quite liked the fact that all of the army guys had which regiment/battalion they were going to (not sure how US forces work)
