Re: Another NEMLA restructure?

National Talent Identification Manager/Officer role I have seen mentioned should surely address the issue of finding talent outside of Premier 1. The current structure allows players to develop the skills and test themselves against more experienced players. A two league structure will stunt growth ...

Re: 2012 Euros: Preliminary England Squad Announced

The England squad are training at Lincoln University this weekend, following on from the U19s having trained there last September. http://www.lincolnshiretoday.net/en/lt/local/2237/English-lacrosse-team-train-in-Lincoln--Home-main.htm It says that the squad is currently 37 and due to be cut to 23. Re: Another NEMLA restructure?

If I remember correctly, sometime around 2009, the ELA ran a taster session at the Manchester City Academy, trying to find naturally talented athletes who should they be dropped from football, might take up lacrosse. Unfortunatly it was probably a waste of time given that many who are dropped from A...

Re: Another NEMLA restructure?

You unfrotunatly still need to have those smaller, weaker clubs. When chasing funding for a programme all your asked about is Exit Route both short term and long term. But I do believe you are correct and I want us, Hull, to have a junior programme that serves two purposes: 1. Reduces the reliance o...

Where have I said that I want to move to summer? I have said if it has to be that way to benefit the game then so be it.

Re: MPC, Regions, Counties!

My experience (in another nation) is that indirect pressure is applied. You would like additional funding (or even just the same as last year), and the body that gives out the money "suggests" that you might like to reorganise ever so slightly to comply with their latest national strategy...

Re: MPC, Regions, Counties!

You said they risk losing funding and I said the ELA risk losing Sport England funding? Where is the deviation. What is the difference between what you said and what I said? For what it's worth I have not recieved a single MPC report for over a year now despite being the main contact for Hull LC sin...

Re: MPC, Regions, Counties!

This restructure is obviously happening and it's down to the 5 constiuent bodies to order themselves accordingly, I get that. But why does the previous structure - CCLA, LCLA, YCLA & South of England - risk the ELA losing Sport England funding? When I applied for Sport England funding the region...

Re: Another NEMLA restructure?

Gazman please stop your bigotted comments about the NW clubs, they don't help, and as you dont really seem to understand that the majority of North of England league players are in the area you like to criticise you are not going to get much support for your ideas by simply slagging them of and see...

Re: Another NEMLA restructure?

Actually a recent NGB report suggests that the survival of my club and one other is vital to the future of the sport in the North of England - For clarity i mean the non-lacrosse pro sports team i was talking about Back to my original question, how many clubs currently share with a cricket club and ...

Re: Another NEMLA restructure?

Excuse my ignorance as i don't know how long Hull Lacrosse club has been going, but for you to suggest clubs with over a 100 years of history up sticks is utter nonsense and actually very insulting to the various clubs with a long association with cricket clubs and any other sport! And doesn't that...

Re: Lacrosse app

Could you not bring back the donations and betting features you used to have? I presume the adverts for Holland & Barrett etc are to help fund the site currently? Are there not people within the lacrosse community who might want to advertise their businesses on here - aside from those selling la...

Re: Another NEMLA restructure?

The biggest problem is talent pool. In the winter we must lose a huge percentage of our target player pool to hockey, rugby and football (as players and also spectators). I think a lot of those players would be more readily available in summer where the 'only' real competition is Cricket (and Rugby...

Re: Lacrosse Talk Magazine

There has been talk for a while of Lacrosse Talk becoming an e-zine. With the relaunch of the ELA website on the horizon, I would bet the future of Lacrosse Talk is tied up in that. I got the ELA Newsletter - Shooting Strings - e-mailed to me the other day and it contained a link to the 10 Year Stra...

Re: MPC, Regions, Counties!

I think you need to stop generalising Mr. Git. Within the current set-up there is support for the county organisations of Yorkshire & South from the clubs. The South is obviously a seperate case as it does a lot more than any other. But as you have said previously, Yorkshire proves there is a pl...
