Re: Results - 05 March 2011
Dave - I understand the point that it's a bit off to call it solely when the oppo has just scored (especially to then claim it's for safety reasons) but surely it's also just not cricket to be intentionally breaking the rules in the first place - i say intentionally because everyone should know this...

Re: Results - 05 March 2011
Can someone please explain why it is less sporting to play to the rules, and call a stick check, than it is to have and play with an illegal stick and hence be breaking the rules?!? It's a bit like saying it's mre sporting to cheat at the face andgrab your opponents stick than it is to ask the ref t...

Re: Parking ticket at Spencer
I'm sure there is a warning on the club notice boards, though not necessarily obvious. There used to be one on the wall of the clubhouse as you walked in through the entrance gate. Might be a good idea for the club to put this back up. As a rule to future parkers - if you're on the pavement make sur...

Re: Results 9th oct
Was down watching Spencer vs Welwyn as a neutral, was a good game, but never truly exciting. Neither team seemed to have too much in the way of well worked offence though this could have been down to good defence. Spencer goalie made 3-4 extremely good low saves in the 3rd and 4th quarter which coul...

Re: Who's going to win the premiership this year?
I'd go with the Blues this year, with Hampstead, Spencer and Welwyn challenging again. I also think Cardiff will be a serious handful, especially with the 2-3 hour journey for opposing teams whenever they have a home match. I get the feeling a lot of teams could all be very evenly matched towards th...

Re: Decline in Save Percentage in NCAA
WHY do goalies step towards the ball when making a save? A football goalkeeper would dive laterally make a save, sometimes reaching behind to stop the ball, as would a cricketer catching the ball. I don't understand the reasoning for stepping OUT towards the ball (I can understand stepping laterally...

Re: Iroquois National Team
The English football team do however, as far as I am aware, all hold legitimate internationally recognised passports. The Iroquois do not. The new passport laws and regulations have been in place for sometime now. Surely somewhere along the line someone within the Iroquois (not necessarily lacrosse,...

Re: British Consulate Delay Iroquois Nationals
[quote="mandyAnd what about the Canadian based nationals? I believe I'm right in saying the area from which the Iroquois are from runs from New York to Ontario, and from the articles passports have only been offered to those born within US borders (has been mentioned a few times). They could be...

Re: What makes a Good Coach?
Player empathy and people management - getting the best out of each individual does not require one magic solution as each player is different. A few thoughts below on what I have seen of the best coaches having played competitive sports since I was 6 On an indivual level a good coach should be able...

Re: British Consulate Delay Iroquois Nationals
At the risk of sounding a tad offensive...why don't the Iroquois suck it up and travel on a US passport? Seriously - there is little logic in making a stand and missing a world championships - the pinnacle of your sport - in which you may never appear again! Unless they are making a serious politica...

Re: No Top Brands at World Cup
I have to say I agree with UKLF: Even if it wasn't put out to tender, it is the organiser's decision as to what equipment they have on sale here, and they obviously made that business choice believing they could make the most money from having a single supplier agreement who obviously pay them £XXX ...

I'm guessing it's something to do this forum is on the official world championship page, and the sponsors/official supliers may have not wanted it on here.
I guess if someone opens up the debate on the normal laxforums site they wouldn't be able to remove it, right mods?

Bench 200kg Wow, those are some serious requirement UKLF...think you might struggle with getting any type of lacrosse playing squad with that benchmark. There should be basic criteria for fitness for sure, SAQ testing, and also some kind of strength, power, muscular endurance testing. The levels don...
