Re: Mentality and Equipment

If a goalie wants to wear extra protection, I honestly have no qualms with it, infact it shows a little common sense. 1st point is that playing lacrosse is it's part time, a hobby, and when we're done with it for the day, we return to our lives, do our jobs, commitments which rely on our bodies to b...

Re: Can we really grow LAX in the winter?

Summer time is when all the university students come home and find a lot of free time, so you'd find a lot of of squads bolstered by students returning home, which would also improve the overall student skills and BUCS won't be changing their play schedule in the year (winter) so there won't be much...

Re: Goalie Glasses

I had some until i lost them :S have him pop into spec savers and get some squash lenses, they increase peripheral vision as this sit just over your sockets, have padded nose and face pieces for impacts (if the helmet jars sideways), the lenses are a reinforced plastic. It also comes with a head str...

@whopead
Thankyou, you pretty much answered my question. and cleared the snaffoo in my head.

I'll be polite. It's a really bad idea.

How would you deal with a player hurling abuse at you multiple times even after awarding an unsortsmanlike?

Re: Fouling out to discourage.

Thats exactly what i'm suggesting. of course, if i really wanted the player off fast, he'd be banished. But the problem is, a 3 minute should discourage, and i've seen where it hasn't so what do we do after that? banish them? If i banish one guy for continued abuse, then if someone else does the sam...

Fouling out to discourage.

Hello, As i am a fairly green referee I just wanted to clarify a possible tool to help control a game. The rules state that once a player has accumulated 5 personal fouls he is fouled out of the game and must immediately leave the pitch. now in the case where a player gives the referee abuse over a ...

Re: England Opportunity Missed

Well, it seems that 'not being good enough' is a pretty poor excuse.

If you know you're not at the level of play required then whats the best way to get better? more trainings! And there is a good 4hrs of some of the best training in the country.

When else are you going to have that chance!

Hello, Having just completed my mens level 1referee course and I was wondering about the next step. I looked on the English forum but couldn't find any information on it? could someone fill me in on when there is the session for it, how much it might cost/last for. are there any prerequisites i need...

Re: Best mesh for a new player

I used to be a Hard mesh man through and through. If my mesh wasn't broken in enough it showed i wasn't doing enough wall ball. but recently i bought a strung stick and in it was Semi-hard mesh. blew my mind! as we play in the UK, soft mesh/ varients are really hurt by the awful weather. so a hard m...

acquiring Panel referees

Hi,

My university team is (due to the hassle of training refs) short of referees.
i was wondering if there is anyone i can get into contact with to possibly organise a Panel referee.

(this will will be on a wednesday not a saturday, so they won't have nemla commitments)

regards

Bangor 9 - Manchester 2nds 8

Very close game with manchester leading at the half, bangor managed to scape it back and hold onto it in the last few minutes to secure to win.
