Re: Can we really grow LAX in the winter?
Lincoln relies heavily on University players, the majority of which go home for summer- this gap would not filled by students returning home from university. This would leave Lincoln unable to compete in the short term. Yes I agree if it was moved to summer we may get more interest but I don't think...

Re: Article for my Blog
In 2010 I re-injured (from an old rugby injury) my knee, I was out for around 4 months. Two years later it has been diagnosed as a ruptured ACL. Still gives me problems. Some times I have to take a few weeks out to rest it but recent physio seems to have helped it. In 2011 I sprained my wrist, elbow...

Anyone can play, they train with the Uni side and the majority of players will be Uni players. Drop Aiden an email and he will answer any questions you have better than me, aidenjakubik@lincoln-lacrosse.com.

Re: Monstermesh.co.uk Still trading??
I ordered a mesh kit and a dozen balls last monday and they arrived today, took a lot longer than usual. I know not a massive help for you but maybe wait a few more days. Also, depending on where you live the recent snow might add a few more days onto the delivery time.

Re: Canadian mesh vs. Hard mesh
A description of Canadian mesh from lax.com (http://www.lax.com/lacrosse-equipment/Lax.com-Canadian-Mesh-Lacrosse-String-Supplies-5402.html) Canadian Mesh is the coated hard mesh. It provides a similar feel to Traditional Hard Mesh. However, it is nearly twice the thickness of Traditional Mesh. Cana...

Whats the right call?
Reffed a BUCS game yesterday and a few things came up that I wasn't sure off. 1. Blue goal keeper came fully out of his crease with the ball, he was legally pushed back into his crease by a red attacker. When inside his crease the goalkeeper doped the ball and rolled into his goal before I could blo...

Re: Time warnings end of quarters
I don't think ref's are required to give a count down, if there is a time keeper they come onto the pitch in the last 30 seconds of each quarter and count down to the nearest ref. 25.2 The time-keeper shall keep an accurate record of the time played in each period, and he shall go out onto the field...

Lincoln 4-14 Loughborough 2nds. Was a pleasure to ref, some very promising freshers on both sides.

Differnce between men's and woman's goalkeeper?
Hey, I was asked to do a bit of coaching with a fresher womans goalkeeper yesterday. I have never played womans or mixed lax so I used the same rules and tactics I teach male goalkeepers. Having quickly read the rules today the only major difference I can see is the time you have to clear the ball f...

Isn't a technical if the keeper does this on purpose? But I suppose its difficult to tell if its intentional unless its glaringly obvious.

Re: Basic award ref seeks enlightenment
This is how i would have called it in the game (rightfully or wrongfully). 1. No foul 52.1 A player may not interfere in any manner with an opponent in an attempt to keep him from a loose ball except when both are within 9 feet (2.74 metres) of such loose ball. If the attacking player was within 9 f...

Re: Manchester Freshers Tournament 2011/2012
The teams that don't have enough freshers for a full team should combine or borrow players from teams that have too many freshers. This is what Lincoln has done for the last few years.

Re: Mouthguards
In my rugby playing days I could wear a normal strapless mouth guard for 80+ minutes with out any problems but that was a properly fitted one from the dentists. Have never worn one in lacrosse but I can't imagine it being any different.

Re: ELA Website
The only reason I ever go in the ELA website is to look for courses (which appears to be rarely updated) and contact details for the ELA staff (who ignore my requests for help). I've just had a quick look around the site and agree with what has been said, it is boring and difficult to navigate. The ...
